Austinbrooke,

I saw your post and I'm wondering if you are still having problems getting a picture on your TV. Is it TV 1 or TV 2? What type TV is connected? If it's a HD TV, you will need to go through your input or source list on the TV to find your picture on TV 1. TV 2 is generally on either channel 60 or 73. I hope this helps.

Is there a cord that connects my tv to my dish box? It is a VIP 211k.

Ethan Lensch,

I can definitely provide more assistance with this. The TV doesn't connect to the dish itself. The cable from the dish goes into a switch, then from the switch it runs in to your receiver.

On the back of the receiver is a "SAT IN" slot. Verify the cable plugged in there is hand tight, and follow it back making sure any other connections you see are tight. If the signal doesn't return, unplug the receiver for 10 seconds and plug it back in.

If the signal is still out when it powers back on, run a check switch test. This is done by going to Menu > System Setup > Installation > Point Dish > Check Switch > Test. When it is done it will either go back to the Check Switch screen, or give you a message. If it takes you back to the screen, exit out and see if signal returned.

If the signal still isn't returning, or you get a message saying "Fewer satellites dectected", let me know here or by email at thomas.faust@dish.com and I can look into getting a tech out to fix this!

Dish network Blue screen No "Signal

Hi john harrison!

A blue screen with "No Signal" is usually related to a video problem. The TV may be getting changed off the correct input/channel, or the video cable might be going bad.

If you have a spare, I would recommend a different cable and seeing if that fixes the problem. If it continues, verify the input/channel your TV is on when it receives a picture and if it goes out try putting it back on that input/channel.

If problems still continue I would be happy to review additional options with you. You can reach me here or at thomas.faust@dish.com

The tv does not stay on when turned on goes off right away

This TV decided there is nothing of value to watch << Just kidding, could not resist...
Is there any message? If you do not have a signal to the port that the TV is set to, many will go into standby mode, but there is a message. This is a bigger problem with Blu Ray, as the machine takes forever to start up and there is no output signal during the start up, so that would cause the TV to go into standby mode (shut down).

Second level tv has a signal but the main tv on first floor has no signal.

Hello! It sounds like there are a few things that could actually be going on. If you are getting no picture on the TV(you have a black, blue, or snowy screen), you will want to make sure that the TV is on the correct channel and/or input. You will want to be on channel 3 or 4, and possibly on a Video 1 or 2 or HDMI 1 or 2 input. If that doesn't work, then try unplugging the receiver from the power source for about 10 seconds. If you are still not getting a picture, let me know!

If you have a signal loss message on your screen (Signal has been lost, Partial SIgnal loss, COmplete signal loss, or Acquiring signal), you will first want to unplug the receiver from the power source for 10 seconds. You will get the Acquiring singla message as the receiver reboots after you plug it in, but that should only be about 5 minutes at the most. If you get the message after 5 minutes, you will want to make sure that all of the cables going from the back of the receiver to the wall are tight. If that still doesn't do it, please let me know!

TV is Powered Up, Placed on standby, then turned on, blue standby light goes out but no screen nothing. only a bit of sound Whats wrong and is it worth fixing or getting a new tv

Sounds like either a cable or a source input issue, You see most flat panels automatically scan for active source inputs and if it cant find one it will automatically go into stand by mode. I would try replacing the cable first before throwing it away. If one of the ports itself is even a problem you should have several other ports to choose from for example, HDMI, Component, SVIDEO DVI or VGA.
Hope this helps and as aways please feel free to follow up with a reply, im here to help
also please dont forget to rate me. :) have a great day!

I have Dish 322 receiver. Everything was fine; a week or so ago satellite 119 reception was spotty, now we can't get 119 at all. We get 110 but only about 34%. Sometimes the receiver will power itself off...

hartpark

It looks like you have lost the signal for the 119 satellite from your dish. Are you getting an error message, either 002 or 015, saying the satellite signal has been lost or acquiring satellite signal? First, check the cables on the back of the receiver to make sure they are secure. You can also run a check switch test to see if there is a problem between your dish and receiver.

Press the Menu button on your remote. This will bring up the Main Menu on your TV screen. Input the numbers: 6 (System Setup), 1 (Installation), and 1 (Point Dish). On the right side of the Point Dish screen are 3 buttons. Select the Check Switch button. Within the 2 large boxes are satellite numbers and green or red boxes. Make a note of the satellite numbers (should be 119, 110), the trans, the device, and switch. Super dish and alternate should not be checked. Select the Test button on the bottom of the screen. If a box pops up with a warning about TV 2, select Yes. It will now run the check switch test. Let it complete the test. After completion, the screen will automatically go back to the Installation Summary screen. You may get a message stating that the Check Switch test has found fewer satellites than previously detected. If you get this message cancel out of each screen (do not save the results) till you are back to the TV screen and it is acquiring Satellite signal.

If you don't get that error message, see if the information on the Installation Summary has changed. Then select Done on the next 2 screens and cancel out of the others till you get the message, Acquiring Satellite Signal. After it finishes acquiring satellite signal and downloads the program guide, see if you are getting a picture - try different channels. If you still have problems, please email me at, ray.calo@dishnetwork.com. If you are still experiencing problems, we will need to send a technician to fix the problem.

jefferswjj,

What are you getting on your TV 1 screen? Are you getting 015, acquiring satellite signal or weak or no signal, blue/black screen or snowy screen? Each of these problems requires certain troubleshooting steps. For the 015 message, a component from the Dish to the receiver may be bad. It could be weather related. For the other problems, the TV may not be on the correct input setting or channel. If you can provide more information, I would be happy to assist you.
