By now, you have probably figured out it is the battery.
They can quit without notice any time.

Engine died while driving and will not restart

Sounds like the alternate quit charging... either charge the battery or replace it and check all the fuses... usually a fuse or two will blow when the charging system quits working

I have a 1990 LE, 6 Cylinder. THe battery is quite new, and I have always had a problem starting it -- I turn the key, and nothing happens -- it might take 2 to 30 times of turning the key to get it to...

Had the same problem with mine. The starter may be bad. While holding the key in the start position, have a friend tap on the top of the starter a few times. If it starts, change the starter.

My 99 Expedition just died while driving. After towing it home it now wont even turn over. I can jump the starter and it engages and I have power to dome light and headlights but when I turn key nothing (...

I has an 86 Mustang that did a similar thing and it turned out that the battery actually shorted out. This happens when one of the plates inside the battery brakes off and then touches another plate. When mine died it was like I turned the iginition off. It wouldn't turn over even with jumper cables.

Turn key dash lights come on but no start or any kind of starting noise ,no starter noise or clicking nothing but all the dash lights

Sounds like stuck starter moter solenoid. Get a mate to tap the solenoid (smaller cylinder attached to the starter motor side) with a hammer, quite hard, while you repeatedly turn the start key on & off. If no joy (and this is needed anyway) have starter removed and reconditioned.
