Question about Fujitsu LifeBook C2340 Notebook

1 Answer

My c-series fujitsu wireless enabled lifebook is not able to connect to local wireless networks. i checked with the troubleshooter and everything is working, when i try to view available wireless networks, i get a prompt about an inability to connect and i am asked to turn on the wireless connection switch (that it might be located in the front)...but i do not see one anywhere. it used to work just fine, until a friend was using it and clicked on something about not accessing local networks!!!! ugggh. i don't have a manual. i use windows xp.sigh

Hi, thanks for your answer. But, I do not understand what you mean. What router? Is there an internal one? How do I open it?

I have rebooted and lost my wireless adapter how do i restore it?

Unplug, remove battery, plug in, reboot. The software should ID the hardware and apply the generic driver. Try here for the Wireless adapter driver: http://support.ts.fujitsu.com/download/DeskUpdateLink.asp?SoftwareGUID=CB18BE72-A5E5-42D4-98DB-4700CA3C4C3E&Prod=LIFEBOOK%20S7220&Produktdetail= Open the Device Manager, select Network Adapters, is the Wireless adapter listed, enabled?

Where is the wireless switch located on the Fujitsu Lifebook A series model AH531?

I'm not sure where the switch is but to enable the wireless connection, you could go to the control panel>network and internet, in the left hand menu choose, Change adapter settings, right click on your wireless network connection and click enable.

Did you turn off your wireless antenna by accident? The on-off switch for Wireless LAN is located on your computer's right hand side - if that's turned off, both wireless and bluetooth will cease to detect any signals or connections.

Not picking up wireless networks

What you need to verify is that the wireless adapter is not disabled or turned off. There is a switch on the front edge of the unit that will turn the adapter off and on.
if you go to http://solutions.us.fujitsu.com/www/content/pdf/SupportGuides/S7210_GSG_B5FJ-5241-01EN-00.pdf you can see the picture of where it is, but from the center on teh front edge, where the latch is, moving to the left, is the mic socket, the headphone socket and them the on/off switch you are looking for. slide it the other way and that should get you back on.
If that doesn't turn is back on, verify in the network connections that the adapter is enabled as well.

No wifi

The Fujitsu Lifebook S5582 does not have an integrated Wireless network card. This laptop was manufactured in 2001-2002. The integrated Wifi card was not generaly common in laptop computers until 2004.

So, you will need to buy a wireless adapter if you want to have wifi connectivity. Since this laptop is quite old, I would recommend a PCMCIA (a.k.a. PC card) adapter instead of a USB because it will be much lighter on the processor load.

You also have to be aware that using a wireless card will use more battery power and therefore shorten the expected autonomy of the laptop when running on battery.

Lifebook P1510D network connection

i had the same problem, i had to install the updates on the "drivers and applications restore cd".  however that didnt work. so i had to download the 1.030 driver from the fujitsu web site.  this worked. but when i tried to calibrate the tablet i was not able to get it aligned.
there used to be 2 different programs for updating the tablet, but now i cannot find the other one.
