Question about Garden

1 Answer

It is a Baja 1044 model. There is power to the spa, but the control panel is flashing "888" and all the lights above the jets, lights, temperature settings are flashing as well. None of the buttons are responsive. Any suggestions to get the control panel functioning?

Hi,

Thanks for contacting Fixya.com
Most probably your topside control panel needs to be replaced. "8" is the number that uses the maximum number of LED or LCD elements. "888" likely indicates a bad panel or a bad circuit board, and the only way to determine if it's the panel or circuit board is to replace one or the other.
Also a smoked capacitor on the pcb.is the reason ,it needs a new board.

Let us know if you have something more to know else please accept the suggestion.
Thank You.

I have an EC display on my panel

That means your "Heating" mode is in Economy! Without knowing what make our model spa you have, or the manufacturer of spa controls, difficult to assist in telling you how to switch to other modes. Maybe try this:
Pressing the "Temperature" button and then immediately the "Light/Jets" button may change the system back to Standard? Once you press those buttons, the "Ec" code comes on and stays on (flashing), and then you can press the "Light/Jets" button to toggle between Standard and Economy and maybe SL - which is Sleep modes.

Good luck

Spa warms up to 104 then down to 82. when temperature drops unable to run jets

not sure of the make and model here but sounds to me if you have a heater that "runs away" intermittantly and safety cuts it off this dissallows the pump from running also , carefull temperature monitoring can help you "SEE" this occur and develop a plan to affect a repair on part needed

off hand id say two parts to look at (water temp sensor) and power relay to heater coil for this problem

What function does ignitor control panel serve

If you are talking about a heater.... ???

The ignitor will ignite the raw fuel that will start to heat: water, area, etc.

The Control Panel is the portion of your appliance that will have buttons & knobs to adjust temperature, jets, mode, lights, etc.

The instrumentation panel says "SL" and the spa isn't heating. How do I get it to heat again?

You have it in "Sleep" mode. Spa will not heat normally in this mode...

If the SL Message is Alternating with the Water Temp in the Display Screen (we call this "Flashing Sleep"), the Spa is Operating in the Sleep Heating Mode.

If the SL Message is ON Solid (Not Flashing) in the Display window of the panel, the Spa is Operating in the Sleep Heating Mode, but there is No current water temperature because the Spa is between Filter Cycles.

Between Filter Cycles, while in the Economy or Sleep Heating Modes, the Pump has not turned ON and the Last Water Temperature is not Current. To read the Current Water Temperature, either Change to Standard Heating Mode or turn On the Heating Related Pump, and wait at least 2 Minutes.

SL or SLP is one of the Modes you can program your spa into:
EC - Economy
ST/Std - Standard
SL/SLP - Sleep

It is advised you keep your spa in Standard mode. Push the Jets button then immediately push the light button. Each press of the light button will scroll between these three modes.

Good Luck

Lanark spa bath

Not really sure but it sounds like there is a sensor that may not be reading properly preventing the pump to turn on.

Light keeps flashing in spa

Sounds like control panel failure or the keypad is locked/stuck.

Try hold temperature UP & DOWN together for 6 seconds.
or if you have a Balboa 7 button controls, both buttons to the left of the display screen & down temperature.

As your lights are flashing the button might be stuck in the down position.

Spa / hot tub does not heat

Your temperature control is way out of calibration or, it's wired wrong. Remove it and check it in a glass of water. Use an ohm meter across the heater wires. As you add hot wwater, the heater contacts should open.
