Question about Protron PDV-288 7" LCD Portable DVD Player
Lisa, I read your problem from 2007 and I am having the same problem. Did you take yours to a repair shop like the suggestion? What did they say? Was it exensive?
I know this may sound dumb, but the wires inside these charger plugs are weak and apparently break very easily from all the bending that comes from just moving your dvd around. Did you try plugging it in and wiggling the wire a bit to see if the recharge light comes on at some point? I have done this and at the point the light comes on, I hold it and wrap electrical tape to the cord (like a "cast") to keep that spot in the cord from bending again. It works but I have to check to be sure the light is on when recharging (if not - wiggle a bit) and step away and not touch it until it is finished charging. Hard to beleive they don't make these better, anyway I found a replacement cord at www.techexcess.net at a reasonable price.
