I have a Canon faxphone L80. It keeps saying paper jam but there is not one! I have tried to find one and there is nothing. I've tried leaving it turned off for long periods of time and still says the same thing when plugged in.
I read somewhere that it might be dirty. Do you think that is the problem?
Please help it is driving me crazy!
After what operation does the machine report the jam. If it is trying to print something and the paper doesn't pull, then it will report a paper jam, even though the paper didn't move. If this is the case then the paper feed tire behind the toner is dirty. Cleaned with rag and rubbing alcohol.

There is most likely a piece of trapped paper where you cannot see it and it is covering a jam sensor. Try to cheat the machine by turning it off and remove all the printing paper. When you turn it on look down where you see the paper normally feeds and see if you can see any rollers turning. Then, try to take a sheet of paper and feed it through were the printing paper usually goes. Open up the cover where the cartridg goes as well and you may see the trapped paper move when you feed through your piece of paper. Remove the cartridge if necessary to get a good look and see if paper is trapped near.
if you look at the top piece of paper in the cassette is there a smug mark or wrinkle in the paper. you my just need to clean the feed roller. ( black or gray roller ) . I'm not sher on this model if it is a rear paper feed or a cassette from under if it is a back feed one look in side the paper shoot of any fournobject is in there. Hope for the best.
Please shut down the unit and remove all paper. Wait ten seconds turn the fax backon without paper. mAKE SURE THE FAX IS ONLINE. hAVE SOMEONE SEND YOU A FAX SO THE MACHINE DEMANDS THE PAPER. SEE IF THIS WORKS
It is the document stop arm that is broken. You can remove it.The machine will work without it.
Just make sure you remove the document stop arm and not one of the other sensor flags in the document feeder.
When this happens it is because the pick up tire has either worn out or has alot of paper lint on it. Remove the toner and I think on this one you can see a rubber wheel in the back middle. You can clean this with a little windex or all purpose cleaner. If it will not pick up the paper after that the tire needs replaced.
Just had the same trouble. I loaded paper. Tried more paper, tried less paper. No luck. Finally in deparation and trying "everything" I could think of, I pressed "stop/reset" before pressing "start/copy" and now it's working. Very frustrating!
