It should be a simple slide switch on the side of the housing that moves up and down to change the direction of rotation of the fan motor and blades. look at the manual that came with the fan to make sure it has this feature but i personally have never seen a fan without one.

Can't find a switch to change the direction of the fan. Not on the wall switch. Minka Aire F701-PW 52-Inch Pewter Delano Ceiling Fan

Generally, the fan directional switch is located on the lower portion of the fan's housing. It will be a 2 position slide switch. Up for Winter, Down for Summer. Do not try to change the direction wihile the fan is ON or rotating. In the Summer, the higher the speed the better. As it generates a wind chill, that fools your body into thinking it cooler that what it really is.

Hope this helped you.

Hi I need to know if I can switch the direction my hunter green Lasko fan is turning it is going clockwise and I would like to reverse it for the summer can't find a switch we've have it for...

Turn the fan off. Locate the reversing switch. It is on the base of the fan near the fan speed and light switches. if its not on the remote control. have a good day !!
If it does not have a revesing fan switch and its older, You may have to physically(with fan stopped)
Push blade in from end and twist blade for reverse air.

Fan has a switch for winter and summer. Is it up or down for summer?

This is probably a reversing switch changing the rotation direction. Check the air flow from the fan to find if it is pulling air up or pushing it down. Pushing down from the ceiling will be the 'winter' setting, pulling up, the summer. Since warm air gathers at the ceiling, it is beneficial to have it move that air downward during cold weather and have it pull up cooler air from the floor in summer. I frankly don't notice much difference though.

How to reverse air flow for summer

There should be a small switch on the side of the fan body for reversing the direction. If this is remote control only then that is where to look for this feature ,,

Fan won't reverse to counter clockwise

I had a hampton bay fan that absolutely did not have a revers switch on the fan anywhere! MOST fans bought today will reverse. I was not about to give up. I scoured the net for an answer and could not find anything to help. I did however find a comment somewhere that said it could be done internally. After about six months I decided to search again (now). Nothing... so I started playing with the remote and the wall switch and Shazaam! I figured it out on my hampton bay fan. Turn the fan on high... Turn the wall switch off.... wait until the fan is pretty slow in rotation... hold the HI button on the remote.... Turn the switch back on. IT Worked for me! Hope this helps someone. SparqMark

Location of reverse switch

There should be a little black switch in the center of the fan. That is to reverse rotation. Make sure the fan is off when you switch it.
