Question about Nikon DSLR D90 Digital Camera

Nikon D90. Uploading photographs to PC I notice

Nikon D90. When uploading photographs to my PC I notice that towards the end of an upload (and particularly when there are a lot of photographs to be transferred) the top LCD control panel on the camera flickers rapidly (and seemingly in time with the flashing of the green memory card access lamp). Is this normal and if it is why does it occur?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you in anticipation of your response.

If this bothers you, why not do what the pros do...use a card reader to transfer the pics.

How to activate date/time stamp on nikon d90

The date and time are stored with the picture as metadata, but the D90 won't mar your photos by scrawling a string of numbers on it. Any good photo editing program will let you print the date and time on the picture, in the margin, or on the back, depending on your printer.

There should be an option within Picasa that allows you to also include video. I'm not familiar with Picasa but most post processing programs provide these upload options. Let me know.

My D90 will not upload to my computer. It had been uploading fine. There is no indicator of any problem. I hooked it to a friend's computer and an indicator came up on the screen, "cannot...

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Nikon Transfer, iPhoto, or Windows Photo Gallery.

Raw setting

You do need RAW compatable software to read these files.
However this should not prevent you simply saving them to a file.
When you say regular Wizard - is this the Windows scanner/Camera Wizard or the one on the Camera CD
If the latter delete that software and use the Windows version.
If you are using the camera to up load images - not a a good idea think of the battery drain - a Card reader is better.
Reading Raw images?
Do a web search for free software
IrfanView Might as indeed Picasa - two to look at
