you can replace the valves without removing the engine by removing the head first. The valves will come with it, however, the mechanical clunk isn't usually indicative of valve issues. I would remove the head, and push on the piston to see if you threw a rod instead. Sounds like the connecting rod was knocking, then gave way, and now the piston isn't moving at all. Another way to tell, is just to put a screwdriver in the spark plug hole, and turn the engine over by hand and see if the screwdriver moves. If not, you need to tear the engine down and fix your rod issue. If you're lucky, you may find the the end cap bolts came loose, and you can put it back together without too much issue. Otherwise, your engine's probably done.

Hi and welcome to FixYa. It sounds like the metering jet in the bottom of the carb throat is clogged.
1st turn off the fuel supply
You will have to remove the float bowl from the carb and then the BRASS jet / orifice. Once removed hold it up to the light.. you should see a pinhole of light thru the jet. No pin-hile = run only with choke. ALSO the nut / bolt that holds on the float bowl has 2 holes in it make sure those are clear.
Before you reinstall the float bowl turn on the fuel and catch it in a spray paint can lid or something similar. It should flow rapidly and stop as you GENTLY raise the float. If no flow then you have a stuck needle and seat or a clogged fuel supply line. Correct same and reinstall the filter bowl. It should run fine after that.
Thanks for using FixYa!

reset the valves to specifications by gaping them all to .008 thousands The vibration will continuely make the gap wider causing this problem to get worst. Gap the valves is recommeded every other year

Hi and welcome tgo FixYa, I am Kelly.
Seems odd that it just came up missing but yes you can install new parts. The manual you will need is here:
The governor data is in section 4 of the pdf file starting on page 34.
I used this model number when searching for your manual:
44K777 - 0027 - E1
Now keep in mind there is also an adjustment that you must do on the governor. Do the
Static Governor Adjustment and Dynamic adjustments on page 100 and 101 of the manual.
Thanks for choosing FixYa,
