Hi hammerhead78

I didn't find the manual but I did find the website, AlienWare's contact information and other relevant links.

HERE is the home page of AlienWare

HERE is their contact information.

You can go HERE and create a free support account for yourself. This will give you access to their online support and AlienWare forums. (These resources aren't accessible w/out being logged into a support account.)

AlienWare may have a separate division (and web site) for cases. I'd create the support account if you can and contact their customer service via email or telephone.

    Hello Hammerhead78

How did it go? Did the information and links I provided you w/ enable you to find the USB wiring information you needed for your AlienWare case?

I DO hope that is the case. :) If it isn't, please, post back here and we'll continue to work w/ you.

If it is the case, would you kindly take just a moment to close the problem by assigning a FIXYA rating for my "solution"? I would be very grateful for your generosity and show of appreciation.

Thank you once again for using FixYa! Have a beautiful day.

Hi Red,

I had a similar problem on a different case though. They might have similar causes.

The front usb port circuit board was connected to the MB with a ribbon cable. The prior owner had the cable attached backwards. It worked fine, until you plugged in a USB device, instant crash.

Can't say for certain this is what is happening with you, but it is a possibility.

I'm sure you already know, pin 1 is the striped cable. On the board pin 1 has an arrow.

Best regards

Mike

Gladiator Gaming case replacement front USB chip?

Hi
Here you go - the whole case will be cheaper than the controls

79.00 for the entire case is the cheapest way to go as they do not sell the control and that is why the number didn't bring anything - it would be 100,00 most likely - so your getting a deal here.

Here are some more pictures - and the case is sold out here but the pictures are many - so you know what it is - also reading the reviews - I want one of these cases now.

Need manual or instructions for connecting frint

The model of the motherboard is actually more helpful. Most of the FP Connectors will be labeled, i.e. HDLED +/-, PWR LED +/-, etc. Loook in your motherboard manual for which pins they relate to.

Help no power

This is a typically problem when you don't have the motherboard proerly seated. Some part of the board must be touching the metal contacts when you screw down the board to the case which causes a short. Try to reseat the motherboard and also make sure you're using washers in between where you screw down the motherboard to the case. That should fix your issue (Unless there's something wrong with the motherboard all-together).
