If it is like a loop than the ram memory is to blame ..try to remove them ..and replace it and give it a try ..If it has more than one ram units in it ..remove them and only let one inside and try to boot...this way by changing them you will see if one of the ram unit is damaged..
if only have one ..and after removing it and place it back again it do not want to boot..but still in a restarting loop with a click noise...than it is a issue that can be solved by removing the bios battery to reset bios settings and make it see the devices again ..If you know how to open it ...remove the keyboard and probably the wifi card to get to the battery ..remove it ...place it again ...insert all again with care ..and give it a try ...should prompt you to press something to go to bios and make the time settings and after that will boot fine ..if all you changed in it is functional..

OK I didnt know the model so I placed for aspire one ..this is the most common and to get to the ram memory you have to actually remove the mother bord ..this is a tough operation but in my link there are several videos and if you carefully watch them you see that it is a issue just of the order of the operation a few ribbons from the peripherals and a few snap clicks...of the case... if you open it ..remove and place the ram in again ...and also remove the battery ..this will force to get to default settings and recognize the hardware again ..
For other models of laptops the access to the ram is made from the back by removing the lid screwed there ...

thank you... will give it a go with a clear head and clear eyes in the morning!

by the way ..this is a issue that usually follow a sudden power lost ..and you should first try to remove the battery and all power source ..put them back ..and give it a try to see if this will fix...and only if the issue is permanent than remove ram and battery

It sounds like ether you do not have a connection right and/or you are having some kind of power issue.

Please let me know the exact model of Acer you have so I can look some info on your system.

HI, its acer aspire 4810TZ... the connection for the new screen seems to be fine, slotted in perfectly. Previously, teh screen was damaged due to impact, but we could see the start up and log-in... now having replaced the screen, it just wont start up. do i need to fully secure the whoel screen and front befor eit will fire up? I have done all except for the plastic front, so i would think it would be fine.

As long as all the connection are connected properly then you may just need to clear the flee power on the system.

To do this you will need to remove the battery and unplug the AC power

Next hold down the power button for 30 to 45 seconds

After you do this plug back in the AC Adapter and try to turn on the computer

Let me know how things go

The next question I would have is where did you purchase the screen from. It is possible that the replacement screen you got was DOA and/or not the right model for your computer.

Do you have access to an external monitor. If you do you may try hooking it up and see if you can get the system to boot. You may also try disconnecting the new screen to see if you can get the computer to fully post. Then you may be able to pull the error logs from Event Viewer if the system was booting that far.

Could be a battery that has reached the end of its life cycle. Or the power adapter could be faulty. If you have access to another power supply try plugging it into your machine and see if it powers up properly. Likewise with the battery. Do you have access to another battery to see if it will allow your machine to come up?

You may also need to double check that the screen is plugged into the motherboard properly.

ACER Aspire laptop power cycles on and off

Sir, form the symptoms I believe that the Battery is completely dead, the system is unable to identify the battery. If possible try checking the battery with a similar model, and the the system should be all set to go.

Acer aspire 7720 start up problems

You need to try to isolate the problem. Try connecting an external monitor to your laptop. Press function screen keys. If you have a picture on your external monitor then you have a video problem - most likely an inverter, although you may need a new screen, unlikely but possible.

If you have no picture then you have a system problem. Disconnect the battery and AC adapter. Remove the memory and reseat. Repower your laptop and see what happens.

Acer Aspire 7004 wmsi Will not start.

When you press the power button does anything happen? such as lights or LED's illuminate?

You could try the following -

1. Make sure there is nothing plugged into the computer (USB devices or memory cards etc etc).

2. Remove the power cable & the battery

3. Press the power button for 30 seconds

4. Insert the charger but not the battery and try and start it up.

If that doesnt work check the USB ports for damage and the port where the charger is plugged in aswell.

If they are damaged or it still wont start it will probably need repairing.

Try the following:
1) Remove power cord, battery and hold the power switch down for at least 30 seconds.
2) Remove and reinstall your memory module(s).

If those don't do it, get back to me for more ideas.
Thanks!
