This is a typical flash circuit failur, you can prove to find on ebay a brocken camera like your, to diosmount the entire flasc eletronic bloc and instal this on your camera. or prove if you finde the flasc bloc on ebay international seller. is probably you can find it in usa.. how many seller in usa sell camera parts. but one flasc circuit if you buy it original can cost 45 -50 euro. its probably that if you find a faul camera you can buy it with a lot less money. if you have a little knowledge to disassemble eletronic apparats , you can prove alone. disassemble to first the brocken camera so you can see wher you must work to not brocken anything. the better is if you disassemble the brocken camera make with anothe camera a film of the disassemblement, and later this help you to riassemble the camera and repair it.
sorry for my bad englsh. but i am shure that this is a eletronic defekt
paolo italia. if you was in italy i can hel you but you are to far from here

E91:01 flashes on screen. Flash will not work. Door pops up but no flash. Is there a fix? This is a Sony DSC H-2

The error message is saying that the high voltage capacitor that creates the flash is not charging. There is probably a burned connection inside the camera or the bulb is bad - do not attempt to fix unless you're aware of getting a good jolt of electricity if you touch the wrong thing. Take it in to a repair shop.

I have a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W90. When I try to change the flash settings, a notification pops up on the screen saying, "Flash settings cannot be changed." I tried setting it in each mode (including Auto)...

Go to Menu/ Home and initialize camera to reset it for factory default settings to fix flash light settings bug.
If problem still not solved, let me know do you see any error code flashing in top right corner of lcd?

Just go in "menu", "set up 1", "initialize", and select "ok". With that you will reestart your camera. I already did it twice in my DSC-H2 and the flash came back to work. Goo Luck!!

Sony cyber-shot dsc-w50 problem

When “FLASH error” (Self-diagnosis Code E : 91 : ** ) occurs, to prevent any abnormal situation caused by high voltage, setting of the
flash is changed automatically to disabling charge and flash setting.
After fixing, this setting needs to be deactivated. Flash error code can be initialized by the operations on the Setup screen.
Method for Initializing the Flash Error Code
Initializes the setting to the default setting.
1 Select [OK] with v on the control button, then press z.
The message “Initialize all settings Ready?” appears.
2 Select [OK] with v, then press z.
The settings are reset to the default setting.
• Make sure that the power is not disconnected during resetting.

My DSC-T100 won't allow any changes to the flash setting.

The flash settings on the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T100 are Auto, Forced Flash, Slow Syncro and No Flash, if it is not giving you a flash and wont allow you to change the setting you might have to talk to sony or the store you bought the camera from. One long shot would be that depending on what other features you are using on the camera, i could be set up to not allow you to change the flash settings in that "mode". Sorry if this is useless, but good luck and if all else fails use sony support! :)
