If it is equipped whit the ambilights the remote should have 2 buttons on it that says ambilight on/off and mode, or it is in the menu of the set under preferences.

You need to replace the "Lamp" check Google Shopping for pricing. Enter your TV model # and add the word "Lamp" Make sure you get a Phillips or Panasonic lamp don't get a Chinese knockoff. They don't last!. Hopr this helps.

Tv turned off by itself now TV button goes on but immediately turns off

I had a similar problem with my Phillips 42 in. LCD HD TV.

Here's the problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened my TV up(warranty was up of course) and found several bad capacitors. Phillips and several other companies were sold capacitors that although were highly rated failed within 5 years because of a lack of preservatives. All sorts of electronic equipment is now being effected due to these defective capacitors.
Solutions?
1. Take it in and have it fixed
2. Open it up, check the board for faulty capacitors(bulged or leaking) Buy a new Power supply board and install it.
3. Remove PSB, remove faulty capacitors and replace with compatible new ones.

Hope this helps

I have a Phillips LCD tv model #42PF7421D/37. and

I know on the plasma TV's it was a matter of updating or downloading and re-installing the firmware/software for the TV to fix the issue. Go to the following page and if the model you have is indeed a 42PF7421D/37 download the software on the page. Make sure you follow the installation instructions to update the software otherwise the set will become a 150 lb paper weight.

Phillips 32" LCD TV, Sound through TV speakers has a buzzing noise which is steadily getting more aNNOYING AND LOUDER.

We are having the "buzz" problem with our new 42' Phillips LCD too.

We do not have a sound system yet...but have read they have the same problem, so I won't assume when I get a sound system it will go away. What I did do for now...and it helped..

Go to the SOUND portion of TV menu
Choose EQUALIZER
Turn down the two FAR RIGHT columns, they are the treble. It helped us.

Philips universal remote codes

For the majority of phillips/magnavox universal remotes: Hold code search button down till red light satys on. Press the tv button and the red light should blink and stay lit. With the tv on, push the power button repeatedly until the tv turns off.(dont push the power button again after the tv turns off or it will go to the next code). Push the mute button to save the setting.
