Question about LG TROMM WM2688H 4.0 cu.ft. Front Loading SteamWasher
We put a load in the washer, and it started but has since stopped and LE is on the display
Hello,http://220.127.116.11/contents/Laundry/WM2277/WM2277xx_Service_Manual.pdf page 18 of this service manual elaborates on the LE error code and what to check.. Hope this helps you..

The LE error or fault code indicates that the washer motor is either overheating or has lost connection to the motor control circuit board. Turn off the machine for 30 minutes to let the motor cool down. Then, restart the washer. If the code comes back immediately the motor is not likely to be at fault and so you should check the wiring from the motor to the motor control board. Also, check the wiring and condition of the rotor position sensor, also called a HALL sensor. If the code doesn't come back on immediately, but returns after the washer has run for a while, the motor stator or rotor may be defective.

First, make sure it says LE and not tE. LE is a hall sensor issue(motor position sensor error). very inexpensive($20) and quick diy fix. check repairclinic.com or appliancepartspros.com for videos that show you how easy it is. (tE is a thermistor error. also a simple $6 fix)

Step 1: Unplug the washing machine.
Step 2: While the washer remains unplugged, press and hold the [Start/Pause] button on the front panel for 5 seconds.
Step 3: Plug the unit back in, and run a rinse and spin cycle to test if the LE code is cleared.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa
LE error in your LG front load washer is displayed when either the motor is not working or the control board thinks that the motor is locked up. A Hall Effect sensor is used in these washers which monitors the speed and direction of the motor and then forwards this information to the control board. Hope you understand by now that this LE error is displayed when there is an issue with the motor or when the Hall Effect sensor sends wrong signal to the control. Conclusion is you'll have to check both motor and hall sensor and replace the part# that is bad, usually I have seen the sensor going bad. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.
