I have & use quite a lot,,the 3 cup food processer by Cuisinart Infact I have two of them,,as I do "a lot of processing" with them..& can't be without one..I have taken the oldest one apart twice before & had to oil the it sorta froze up.& it worked fine until just a few days ago,,when It wouldn't come on..
Everything was in order & aligned up..but wouldn't come on..I removed the bowl & pressed down on the hole where the switch is ,that makes it come on,,with the bowl in place ,,but it still wouldn't come on..( ?? ) I checked out the wiring & electronics,in the motor area,,with my volt meter.& I think its the power swithch that makes it come on,with the bowl in place..
HELP !!Thanks,,Dave Melcher of Springhill fl.

It may simply be that the bowl and cover are not completely in position. The bowl must be locked in place with the handle straight to the front, only then can the lid be locked into place. Then the pusher must be be in--it has a part that interlocks with the lid and prevent the motor from starting until it is in position. Hope this helps!

Cuisinart food processor 7-cup model, about 5 years old. When I started it there was a tiny spark at the back end of the plug, then it wouldnt turn on. Is this something I can fix myself?

Over time a power cord can wear out under repeated stress or heat. Replacement power plugs are available at many Hardware stores and you need only a new replacement plug and a few simple tools to do the replacement yourself.
Review either of these instructions.

Insert pusher

"insert pusher" ...this just happened to me too! Such a simple fix! ...The handle needs to face the front!.. Yes, it all clicks in nice the other way around, but if the handle is facing the rear of the unit, you will get the error "insert pusher" and the machine will not work.

Replacement of the switch would be a likely repair unless other damage makes replacement impractical.

I plug it in, turn it on, the red light goes on but nothing happens. same thing when i hit pulse. Any ideas what could be wrong?

the problem is from the connection i.e power connection
that supply electrical force on your processor

this means that there have been a power fail on the propeller ,

what you need to do tofix up this problem is to unscrew the processor then trace the wire down to the propeller you will fine the disconnected wire from the propeller then fix back to the propeller unit but if there is no sign of disconnection from the connection then it means that the wire are weak ,

it will need to be replace with a better one which you can get in the store.please note before you can do this assignment you will have to put off all source of power supply to your processor

thank you.

I have a Waring food processor model FP51071 motor will not go on

since I did not get a response from fix it and could not find a local repair store from fix it I called Waring the manufacturer and was told the motor will not work as a safety precauition until the top is locked in once I did that it worked fine.
If you had responded to me in anyway except to sign up and pay for your service I would have signed up now I am just annoyed .

I have the unit plugged in and the ingredients in the bowl, but it will not pulse...what am i doing wrong?

I am assuming that the unit is not getting any power whatsoever and this is not isolated solely to the pulse function not working.

The Kitchenaid food processors have a few safety features implimented. If the unit is not assembled properly, this may prevent the unit from turning on. Proper assembly is below:

If it isn't all ready, please disassemble the entire unit. This means removing the blade and/or disc, blade, removing work bowl, work bowl lid, and blade.

Start by placing the work bowl onto the motor base. The work bowl handle should be facing at 9 o'clock, which is out to your left. Rotate the handle downward until it locks in at the 6 o'clock position, which will lock over the center of the button panel.

Repeat the process with the work bowl lid. The blade does not need to be present for the motor to engage, if this is an assembly issue.

I had the same problem. I noticed that the bowl has to be on and locked in for anything to work. THE MAIN issue though is that the piece from the lid slides in to turn an actuator. well it doesn't turn it far enough to engage it. so all you have to do is add something to the turning actuator to give it that extra 5 degrees to turn on. This is not an official fix. Just a quick fix. I will be leaving it there forever. So the problem is not power or anything electrical. it is the mechanical turning of that piece that is the culprit.1_15_2012_4_55_38_pm.jpg1_15_2012_4_56_01_pm.jpg1_15_2012_4_58_09_pm.jpg

My food processer does not work

I had the exact same problem. The red light came on when I hit the "On" button, but nothing happened. Then I noticed that when the lid is locked into place, a small pin in the handle goes into a small hole in the base. I took a wooden chopstick and poked it in this hole in the base, and the unit started running. I put the bowl and lid back on the unit and locked them into place, and this time the unit ran just fine. Yeah! I will remember this the next time my unit won't run even though I know that I've properly locked down the bowl and lid. Good luck!
