Check for spark. If it has spark, try starting using starting fluid. If that starts it, then you know it is a fuel problem. You may need to rebuild the carb.

2005 vw polo 1.9 tdi wont start

if it starts when you pour fuel in the intake.. then fuel is not reaching the tbi from the tank..you say you put a new fuel pump on this..did you bleed the fuel lines? if not do this because there is an airlock in those lines..either you need to open a fuel line at the tbi unit to bleed it all out.. or be looking at a clogged up fuel filter..

Run out of gas on a 2006 silverodo z71 and it will not crank after I put gas in it

I take it you mean it WILL crank(turnover) but wont start. Anyway, Your problem may be a lack of fuel pressure. Could be the filter is now clogged. Trapped air in fuel lines, and fuel rails. Most GM vehicles have a schrader valve on one of the fuel rails. It looks similar to a tire valve stem. You could turn the key to on, make sure you hear the pump in the tank running. It will run a few seconds to pressurize the fuel system, and run continuously after the engine starts. Using a fuel pressure gage to check pressure and depress the valve carefully to visually see if fuel or air is present. Dont position yourself to be sprayed with gas.

Most late model vehicles wont arm the ignition(spark) systems unless there is correct fuel pressure, among other things. Something you may not know is that most all fuel tanks have a reserve of 1 to 3 gallons of fuel in the tank that wont register on the gage. Putting in 1 or 2 gallons most likely is not enough to prime the system. Hope this helps.

My 2000 kia sportage is having fuel pump problems sometimes the fuel pump doesnt pump at all. ive checked the ground on the fuel pump, the fuse is good, and i dont know if theres a fuel cut off switch....

it sounds like the problem is the pump itself.you will probably have to have the pump replaced to correct the problem.this is how a bad pump acts when its worn out and needs replacing.replace the fuel filter at the same time

For a while my 95 buick lesabre would start and cut off on me mid drive; hot, cold, full speed to not fast at all. now the car wont start. i have changed the starter, altinator, bat, plugs and wires,...

Just because you hear the fuel pump running doesn't mean the fuel pressure is correct, put a fuel pressure gauge on the car, 41-47 PSI (Pounds per Square Inch)Position the ignition switch and the A/C system in theoff position. Install a fuel pressure gauge to the vehicles fuel rail or fuel pressure test port.Confirm that no leaks are present, and visually verify the PSI reading on the gauge with the ignition in the on position.

200t ultra classic wont start at all it fires up but will turn off after it has fuel i replaced the battery, it might be the tps or cps i dont know what can you tell me!

Fuel injected? Could be the fuel line on the pressure side of the pump, (in the tank) not holding pressure. could also be a loose fuel fitting from the tank to the carb. Make sure the line on the outside of the tank is secure, then check to see if you can hear fuel moving in the tank. If you can hear the fuel moving, (with the ignition switch in the on position), it is probably a split fuel line inside the tank.

87'ford ranger , cuts out runs real bad, sometimes wont start ,, replaced fuel pump fuel filter, ignition module, and now some sort of pic up relay of sum sort but dont know fast n easy way 2 replace it ?

Do not go changing parties to check if you got spark plugs in the pressure testing of the gasoline in the port check if this is OK with a lamp test if you test positive voltage at the terminals of the nozzles when you start the engine gives positive and see if you have negative voltage when the motor turns negative if you check whether the time band is in the correct markings ...

2001 chevy blazer not starting

I had this same problem with my 1997 Blazer, which required a fuel pump replacement as Nitrobike said. The sign to look for is when you get in the Blazer, turn your key forward to the accessory position, but not the start position. You should hear the fuel pump charging. It sounds like a hissing or whirring noise for about 2-3 seconds while it pumps fuel into the lines to prime the engine.

Fuel pump replacement isn't cheap, about $700-$1000.
