You are looking for the "PIP" (picture-in-picture) button on your remote or in your TV's user menu ("menu" button).

Finding this on the remote and pushing should do it. If not on the remote, you'll find a menu item.

Why doesn't the open/close button on DVD player of DVD/VCR combo work?

Assuming there is not a forgotten tape stuck in the VCR side, the mode selection logic has gotten all confused. On the VCR side, a tape is grabbed and loaded to be played. There probably is an EJECT button that is enabled for later use. The DVD side is disabled so no buttons work. On the DVD side, the open/close button is enabled (if no VCR-side problem is detected), allowing you to place a DVD in the tray and close it to play. The VCR side is disabled so no buttons work. That's the theory. From your description a sensor on the VCR side may have failed or been damaged, causing the player to keep reverting to VCR and preventing use of the DVD side.

When hooked up to an LCD TV DVD picture comes out black and white

Helllo

Your have probably put your dvd player in the wrong mode, your Dvd which you are trying to play might be NTSC while the dvd might be in PAL or vice versa please check your mode settings to be sure or better still you should put your dvd in the auto mode system which automatically selects the right mode for the dvd you are trying to play

Please also check that your AV cord is properly inserted and they are all in the right ports

Cannot take picture

Check the switch on the side of the lens, it should be in "AF" not "M". The switch turns the motor in the lens on and off. If the switch is set to "M" the automatic mode on the camera will not work.

Samsung lcd tv le32r8 (Picture - Movie setting)

The TV is probably in Shop mode, when your TV is initially turned on you can choose between Shop mode or Home Mode.
In Shop mode the TV automaticly returns to the standard setting after a while, they do this so customers can "play" with it.

Press down de Volume button and then hold down the Menu button for five seconds on the side panel of the tv.

Unit turns itself on in standby mode

This can be a very irritating problem. Happened to me too. The only thing to do is after you turn off the unit with the remote, go to the unit and physically turn off the power to the unit with the manual Power on/off switch on the left side of the unit. Nothing else works.
