You question is not that specific so i can't give you the specific answer, there're several ways to configure this settings, but it depends on the Operating system you are using. If you are using windows Xp, log off from the desktop and press Ctrl+Alt+Del simultaneously on the login screen (sometimes you'll need to press several times), a small logon window will pop up, type administrator on the username box and if a password was set with the administrator, key in the password, or if there's none, just press enter after typing the "administrator". After you are logged in with the administrator account, go to control panel - user account - create new - and create an account (any username that you want to give) with the administrator privilege (rights) {you should select Computer Administrator}. Again log off and login using the new username and password (if you've set a password). Now with that account, you can do anything with your computer. If it's not Xp then the problem is difficult being without the administrator's rights. If you have another account with administrator's rights, then you can disable the Guest account. Good luck Thanks for using FixYa.

Starting my laptop up

You can remove or change the Window's User or administrator's password and privileges. You need access to a computer with Internet access to download the Hiren's Boot CD and burn it onto a CD. Then insert this CD into the laptop/computer and boot up the laptop/computer with the Hiren's CD and follow the instructions. There are very useful utilities CD and it a Linux boot CD which contains quite a lot of Utility programs including a password removal program. Click on one of these links to download HIREN'S BOOTCD :- http://www.hirensbootcd.net/ http://67.20.82.163/

My lexmark printer is saying i dont have authorisation to instll?

You may be logged on your computer using a guest account. A guest account can access the computer but has limited rights and permissions (e.g. downloading applications, computer configuration changes, install software or hardware, etc). Please ask your technician or access the Administrator account to successfully install the printer driver. You may also ask the owner of the Administrator account to grant you additional rights and any permission to your guest account so you can make future changes.

Forgot my password for a gateway laptop and can only use guest. need help to unlock it with out a cd or usb?

the first thing I would recommend is running the computer in safe mode(press F8 as the computer is loading), that should give access to the administrator account, if not then the only way to bypass guest account is with the use of password removal software, which requires either a CD or USB flash drive

Tried to remove guest from my computer ended up removing myself now I cannot reenter because I do not know the Administrator password and the person is out of contact

Hmmm... Shouldn't have deleted your account, especially with the Guest account turned off. Can't you contact the person with the Administrator password via telephone or email to get the PW? That is the only way I know of getting back to your desktop in XP without formatting the hard drive, and I'm pretty sure you don't want to do that.
