You need to re-align your printer, please follow these steps:
XP/2000: Go to start > control panel > printers > right click your printer and choose properties, go to maintenance and choose "Print head alignment" follow the steps on the printed page and you will be fine.
Vista/7: Got to start > Devices and printers > right click your printer and choose properties, go to maintenance and choose "Print head alignment" follow the steps on the printed page and you will be fine.
In case the steps are unclear, you will have to put your printed page under the scanner and press the scan button.
Good luck.

Unfortunately, the option for cartridge alignment is not available in Windows 7. Am still trying to find a solution, would appreciate it if anyone has figured it out!

Calibrate the printer. Follow these steps to calibrate the product and align the CPR.

1. Open HP Toolbox
2. In the Toolbox window, click the product model name to expand the menu choices.
3. Click to expand the Device Settings menu.
4. Select Print Quality from the Device Settings menu, and then click Calibrate on the Print Quality panel.
5. Click OK when the Your request has been sent to the device message appears on the computer.

The calibration begins and lasts for approximately 2 to 3 minutes.

If the printout still not acceptable, repeat steps 1 through 5. You can recalibrate the printer as many as three times. If, after three calibration attempts, the printout is still the same, service the product.

HP 1210 all in one printer does not have a maintenance button to allow me to align cartridges. Prints landscape pages out of alignment; I have tried taking the cartridge out and putting it back but it...

On the printer hold down the CANCEL button then press and hold the ON/RESUME button until the CHECK PAPER and CHECK PRINT CARTRIDGE LIGHT both blink simultaneously.
When both lights are blinking press CANCEL, COPIES, PAPER TYPE, and COLOR START COPY one after the other. All this must be done in under 10 seconds for it to work. Once this sequence of buttons is completed correctly in under ten seconds an alignment page will print.

hi,

seems like an hardware problem... anyway we will give a try

> unplug the usb cable
> open control panel and then open printers and faxes
> right click on each and every printer icon related to this particular printer and delete it.
> now turn off the printer
> keep pressing the on button for 20 seconds
> turn the printer on
> take out the ink cartridges
> now turn on the printer
> when the printer asks for the cartridges, insert them
> still if you have the problem, check for any jammed paper
> turn off the printer and open the rear access door. you will get full acces to the rollers, remove the jammed paper if any
> close the rear access door
> try to copy or print after turning on the printer

if still u have the problem service the unit.

Printing Test Page

I am assuming you have Windows XP here. This quite often happens when you haven't aligned the cartridges. To do so go to
1. Start.
2. Settings (or Control Panel if you don't have settings).
3. Printers & Faxes.
4. Right click on HP PSC1210 (or whatever your machine is called)
5. Click on Properties.
6. Click Printing Preferences.
7. Click on the Services tab (top right).
8. Click on the big button with icon beside Service This Device.
9. Click the icon beside Align the print cartridges.
10. Finally, follow the process described. You will probably have a page print out which you then need to scan (make sure you scan it the right way).

After aligning is complete you will hopefully not get any more test pages (until you change the cartridges again that is).

Of course there may be another issue. If this doesn't fix the problem let me know and we can go from there.

Character spacing when printing 2 pages on A4

Hi,

Hope this gives you an idea. When printing from your pc, please select print properties to draft/best printing resolution. We'll see the difference between fast draft to best. Else you'll have to allign the printer settings from your pc, using the printers alignment tool.

Best regards,
Rosener
