If the bios shows audio as disabled and you are unable to enable the audio in bios, you need to update the firmware of the motherboard. You can find the firmware on Intel website by searching with model number of motherboard.

My mother board is 82801 problem is no audio device

There could be a problem with the actual audio circuit (which is built in I believe, not sure) on the motherboard itself or the audio has been disabled in the Bios. Reboot your computer and access the bios software and check to see if it has been disabled. If so, enable it and save changes and exit. If not, the chip itself could be defective, you could simply buy a third party audio card and install it in an open slot on your motherboard.Follow the manufacturers installation instructions and Install the drivers that came with your card, (after booting up your OS), and that should take care of your problem. Good Luck!!

No sound in computor.Sound driver is SoundMax WDM driver

since the board does not have built in sound card u must be using and pc sound card! install the sound cards drivers again! if done go to control panel-> system -> hardware -> device manager see for a sound card installed and check if it is enabled
or else first go to the BIOS setup at the startup and see if the PCI Sound card is enabled or not!

No audio out put device installed

If I were facing this problwm, then I would have tried installing audio drivers on my laptop first.

You can download the drivers from the following website.
http://download.cnet.com/Realtek-AC-97-Audio-Driver-XP-W2K-W98-WDM-driver-VER-5-10-0-5554-zip/3000-2110_4-210198.html

My touchpad has stopped working. Device Manager

you can enable and disable the touchpads Touchpad: - to enable or disable a touch pad/pointing device from the Start Menu > control panel > Change to classic view - {on left hand menu} click on the mouse icon Mouse Properties dialog box, click "Device Settings tab" select the device click to Enable or Disable OR You may need to enable in the bios/setup menu - as the PC boots - you should get a message on how to get into the bios/setup - usually using F2 or DEL Key or F10 see if touch pad needs to be enabled there OR
one of the F keys may disable/enable - depends on the model of the Laptop - toshiba sometime use FN+F9 key

Check the BIOS ("del" key upon start-up or "F1, F2 or F10" depending on system to access the menu). Check for audio setting (may need to scroll through menu categories to see if onboard audio is enabled). If disabled, try to enable it by hit spacebar, left/right arrow key or + - keys to change setting. If it is an add-on sound card you may need to install or re-install the drivers and in this case the onboard audio should be disabled in BIOS.

A device driver is a computer program that enables devices to communicate with each other.
If your audio driver something in this form
Vinyl AC’97 Codec Combo Driver (WDM)is not enable or updated you might not be able to use your speaker.

Click start, click control panel, at the left side of the control panel window, click switch to classic view.

Right click System Icon, click open.
Choose "Hardware" tab and click the "Device Manager" button .
Please right-click mouse on "MultiMedia Audio Controller" and choose the "Properties" menu item to show the driver details.
· Click the "Driver" tab and then click the "Update Driver.." button for update.
· Please follow the instructions of the "Upgrade Device Driver Wizard".
· Choose "Search for a suitable driver for my device" and click the "Next" button.

· Click the "Next" button to install Audio Driver on "Driver Files Search Results".
· If the "Digital Signature Not Found" dialog is opened, click the "Yes" button to continue the Installation.
· After completing the above steps, the driver has been installed into the system.

Please click "Finish" button to complete the installation.
