try these:-

  • connect it to pc and on it
  • vaccum the barrel of lens
  • changing mem. card and batt. for 2min.
  • shake it.
  • on and off in different positions
  • hit the part near lens softly with palm (trust me this made mine work)

My lumix dc20 when turned on displays this battery cannot be used. Any ideas please

1) Incorrect battery, use genuine battery. 2) My Canon 400D had a similar problem. Checks showed that I had a damaged standard 18mm to 55mm lense unit, and also gave me "change battery" error message. I had a similar problem with a 70-300m lens. The camera main lense needed repairs, the Tacumar lense was not worth repairing. Have a camera specialist check your camera and more specific the main lense unit.

I have a Tokina lens which says SD 35-200mm 1:4-5.6. The serial # is 8508870. What can you tell me about it, like what camera brand it fits?

Hello. The SD stands for Super Low Dispersion glass. It's a type of glass which is supposed to correct a lot of common light-transmission errors that naturally occur with optics used in this manner. All companies use "special" or "proprietary" methods of producing their respective high-quality lenses. The 35-200 tells you the focal length(how much zoom capability) you have. In other words, 35mm is considered a mild wide-angle lens while 200mm is approximately equal to a 10x pair of binoculars. Tokina makes lenses for a wide variety of cameras. There should also be a letter designation stamped on the rear of the lens mount. "O" for Olympus, "M" for Minolta, "N" for Nikon, "P" for Pentax, etc. Sometimes, there are 2 letters showing that the lens will fit cameras from 2 different companies.---Rick

Lense error, restart camera

This is probably THE most common failure among digital cameras. There's a halfway chance of fixing it yourself, described here: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...

Here's some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for less than 50% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try:

Changing lenses

Tell me more about the lens- make etc full detail. Check also the Fiji web site for their lens's. Make sure you are attaching the lens the right way round- there is presumably a set of contacts that match the contacts on the body[A connectiviry issue] So far I am guessing but your remark 'See them all over the internet'leads me to wonder if some of this stuff is genuine Fuji or a reputable make.
