The laser may be dirty. Buy you a cd cleaner disk and try that first.

This may be a compatibility issue as Bose equipment is not generally compatible with non-Bose aftermarket products. The I/O interface voltages require different levels in Bose products. Without knowing your complete setup and the model numbers it is hard to say what may be going on with your set up. Sorry.

Bose does not release their schematics or parts lists, effectively making themselves the only repair center for their products. Your only safe repair method is to contact the service/repair center at www.bose.com. They will likely offer you a flat rate repair or credit towards the purchase of a new unit.

Player will not play cd - it reads then says

Your CD player is failed. It will need to be replaced. Some folks can repair but it cost less to have it replaced. If no one local will do it BOSE will for about $150.

there are only couple options. pull radio and send to shop for repair, purchase used radio from good junk yard. or call dealer and see if there is a warranty on it. even though its 6 yrs old they may help. what they do at the dealer is an exchange

sorry mate, looks like cd 5 is damaged goods...... wheter you damaged it or not, can't say....

however, make sure. when you try to play cd, that the cd button, nearest display was pressed as just putting in a cd isn't automatically taking control of the cd function like in other cd players. ( that is to say you have to diliberately select CD mode to play cd's)

if you fancy a load of electronic messing and visits to radio shack i am sure you can repair it if broken,
or a second hand cd unit could be obtained elsewhere on line.
