Question about Televison & Video
the problem should be from the laser (lens) of your player. The lens is a bit weak such that it has the ability to play DVD's but its not active enough to play blue ray discs.
Be aware that disc plates have strength more than the other because they have different disc space or size, that is, one has the ability to carry more files (movies) than the other, so the large the size of files on a disc, the more the laser (lens) of the player needs to be active in other to read the data/files such discs. Just has blue ray is larger that DVD, so is DVD larger than VCD and VCD larger than Audio CD.
So the fault is from the lens of your player, try get a lens cleaner to clean the lens and see if it will make any difference. The strength of the lens has depreciated that's why it skips blue ray, but still has the ability to play DVD's.
I hope you understand my explanations.
