I have had a paper jam with my Epson aculaser C900. Afrer clearing it and restarting, I get the error message:- Error no 6022 "Turn off the printer and make sure any optional interfaces, memory modules, or ROM modules are installed correctly. Wait a few minutes then turn on the printer. If this error occurs again contact your dealer".
What are:- optional interfaces, memory modules, or ROM modules and how can I check that they are installed correctly
this is a common alarming message, it also occurs intimes of abrupt power interruptions. It is true that this might end up being a technical issue, however from your explanation it is as a result of a paper jam.
fine before we get down to technical solution WE HAVE TO USE ELIMINATION METHOD IN SOLVING THIS -NOTE THAT YOU HAVE TO BE VERY CERTAIN OF YOUR FEED BACKS/ CLARIFICATION.
POINT 1 - cover open
Are all the cover closed tightly and in place, Do you hear a clicking sound when u shut the cover?
POINT 2 - multiple sensor failure
caused by paper jams and the paper shatters /tares inside the printer : At such time the paper was forcefully /ignorantly pulled off the printer from either AB cover or the paper tray. In such cases the printer will issue all sorts of error messages not limited to error 6022 to the common paper jam error.
Remedy: open cover AB, study the transfer unit (the hot part), all level sensors (things like seasaws) -- remove all loose paper parts .
better still download this PDF and Do a thorough quest http://tech.epson.com.au/downloads/RedirectLink.asp?ProductID=alc900&Email=&DownloadID=4464
having done that ur printer should work.
POINT 3 - Low Power
Is your printer on a UPS or some sought of power devices. Remove those devices and put the printer on DIRECT power outlet.
Sorry but we gonna go technical from here :)
POINT 4: Loose addons / peripherals (elementary)
Remove the waste Tonner collector, photo conductor and the transfer unit buy opening cover A. inspect the last two items for paper traces.--- Attention photocoductor is light sensitve and should not be touched on its green surface. pay particular attention to the moving parts i.e the gears.
restore the above making sure they enter firmly. Power on your printer. It should work. if not you may try doing the same to the toner catridges.
POINT 5 : Loose Rom Module
Did it really go loose ? May be or Not. Or during the process of removing paper the printer was lifted / Tilted and some culprit (dust) fell on the ROM which is placed horizontally inside the printer.
U require a STAR screw driver. Opposite cover A , the only metallic side of your printer u will find some sticker in yellow with writings bla bla bla - dont open here. Open the protruding part on the Right, it has 5 screws.
The ROM is something that looks like a half sized credit card put in some type of Socket
Find the Rom, Blow it (simply by mouth) and Push it in NOTHING ELSE.------------ WARNING, WIPING, TOUCHING -TOUCHING,CLEANING WITH CHEMICALS ARE TOTALY PROHIBITED.
I hope this fixes your problem, i have managed to recover from such problems severally

this could be due to the sensor at behind of the printer.. you should be able to see it once you open cover E.. it's very delicate plastic and normally when you clear the paper , you might accidently damage it.. you will need to open the read feed assy to fix it.. 4 screws and you should be able to remove it.. but first remove the E cover but slightly forcing the lower left hidge.. use a test pen...
We just solved this problem with our c900.
Basically, a paper jam has caused some probs with the sensors and rollers. After playing with the thing for about 4 hours, i ran some really thick photo paper through it and after a couple of trys where it just screwed up in the back, it then fed through and printed correctly. After that it was fine with all paper types, no more messages, and no more paper getting screwed up in the back. Ian
open the mp tray locate 2 white plastic egg shaped piece on the ends of the steel rod gently push one or the other towards the back of the machine if the paper jam error message is on then the roller will turn as soon as you give it a push re load the paper open and close door a or e printing should resume that white piece works with the paper lift to get the paper up to the in feed roller
Step1 Turn the printer off and on to see if it can automatically clear some or all of the jam. Many printers provide an error-code listing on the front panel display for the area where the jam occurred. If your printer shows an error code, be sure and check the printer manual to see if that identifies the area of the printer where the jam occurred. Step 2 Turn off the printer. Step 3 Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper. Step 4 Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge. Step 5 If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it in a bag or away from light to avoid damaging it. Step 6 If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly (see A). The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam. Step 7 If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper (see B). Don't force anything, though. Step 8 Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on. Step 9 If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
Error Code 6001 ~ 6999 are simply service required errors and are very general. I would imagine that if the tray is missing the printer will produce a fault.
For starters it will think it has no paper and therefore will not try to pick up paper from the tray. If the tray is opened during operation I believe the printer stops, therefore there must be a sensor for the tray - no tray means sensor is operated.
Best guess - fit a tray.
