Question about Freezers
A customer has a coldtech freezer that will not start the compressor or
condenser fan motors. the control board has power on the supply side but
not on the outlet side. when power is supplied to the condenser by-passing
the board, the circuit breaker trips not from a short circuit but what seems to be an overload. the start capacitors, relay, and compressor where all checked. the compressor ohms out fine, but i do think it is stuck. this compressor has an internal overload that is not open. the compressor on the condenser appears to have been replaced once.
my formal training tells me that this system is in need of a microprocessor and a compressor. the owner said the system stopped working after a storm.
Sounds like an issue witrh the microprocessor to me as well, although you tried bypassing it it still didnt work its quite possible that the fan aand compressor are runnig on different voltagfe the 110v , new energy effient compressors are starting to run w/ 220, an inverter built into the circuit board could be steppin up power,
