I would also check to make sure that you are using the latest version of java.
you can check on this site to make sure your version is current, and get an updated version if need be.
If your java is current, then it sounds like it may be a cache issue.
i would first download and install CCleaner.
http://www.ccleaner.com/download, install and run it.
Try going to the farmville site.
If you cant get there using the url, try typing in your browser address bar;
if you can get to the site that way, then it is a stale or corrupt DNS entry in your DNS cache. to clear that out,
need to go to a command prompt.
In XP, go to start menu, run, then type in CMD.
When the dos box comes up, type in ipconfig /flushdns.
if you are using vista or windows 7, then go to the start menu, search all programs and files, and then type in cmd and then hit the enter key.
When the dos box comes up, type in ipconfig /flushdns. and hit the enter key.
Try the site again.
If it doesnt load, then next thing would be to try pinging the site.
Back in the same DOS box, type in, ping www.farmville.com then hit enter
you will see a message with this as the first line,
Pinging farmville.com [220.127.116.11] with 32 bytes of data:
there will be several other lines underneath too, but if you recieve the message that the host is unreachable, then your computer cant find the farmville site.
If you arent using a router or hub, skip this step
If you are using a router or hub, i would try plugging your network cable directly into your DSL or cable modem. Then try accessing the site.
If you can access this way then there is a rule of some sort in your router that is blocking the site, and your router would need to be reconfigured.
If that doesnt work, next thing i would check would be your firewall settings. This site may be blocked. Without knowing what firewall you are using, it would be a very lengthy post to walk you through the process of checking each one.
If you need help with checking your firewall configuration, please comment back in here and i can help you further
hope this helps and if i have helped you please dont forget to rate.
