Hi! The beep means a memory card problem. The memory card may be loose and needs to be reinserted. Try it and see how it goes. Hope this helps and have a good one!

LAPTOP ELECT ADAPTER GETS HOT, BEEPS, DONT WANT TO CHARGE. ITS NOT THE CORD. WHO CAN FIX IT AND WHATS THE COST?

Typically it is cheaper to get a new cord. Average cost is around 79.99 last time I was in a store for one. They are generic adapters. If the adapter itself is beeping something like a spill or fall is the most likely culporate unfortunately.

I turn on my acer aspire laptop its power button lights up for 1 second but does't switch on my lappy how can turn on my laptop

first, please tell me,are there any beeps?
or maybe you have already done this, but remember that many laptops require that you remove the battery for about 30sec. as well as disconnect the AC power to reset them. Always try to do this when everything seems completely dead.
Please let me know if it's working or not,and thanks for using fixya

I am having Acer Aspire 5738 which i am using every day since 11/2 year. Yesterday When I switched on the laptop it was beeping during the startup for a 1 min or so say 10 to 15 beeps and then it stopped...

Does it now work ok??
Does it boot up without the beeps?
You could try reseating the memory. Take it out and put it back in, most beeps at startup are memory.
It may also have been a key stuck on the keyboard.

ACER Aspire- beeping sound - 6seconds when I power machine on

The beeps are telling you there is a hardware failure (POST). The number and length of beeps will give a better indication as to what has failed. Write back with that info and someone on this web site will interpret this for you.

The screen problem sounds like a leaky capacitor or other failing component that once warmed up exhibits close enough to the correct values to correct the display problem (this usually progressively worsens with every boot of the laptop until no benefit occurs after warm up).

The beeping sound suggests a hardware error, and could be the keyboard. I have seen this on a Satellite and randomly pressing multiple keys on the keyboard momentarily stopped the beeping and allowed the unit to boot (yours seems to be getting past the error beeps on it's own though, suggesting another culprit). The problem could be bad RAM, so pulling one stick of RAM out at a time and starting the computer will eliminate or confirm the RAM as the problem. Other removable hardware such as the hard drive (you would have to install another hard drive to check this one), wireless card, PCMCIA card/device, USB removable hardware (mice, keyboards, wireless antennas, etc...), should be the first devices disconnected to eliminate as being the cause.

Sounds like a real problem child/laptop. Multiple simultaneous problems are always tougher to troubleshoot as they can compliment/effect each other, so look at the one that occurred first. Good luck!
