Question about Olympus FE-20 Digital Camera

Lens on my camera not working I want to fix the camera myself

I have a Olympus camera, the model is FE 20. I dropped it on the floor and now the lens is not working. It doesn't retract, its kinda stuck. Its really expensive to get it repaired so I thought if I have instructions how to fix it, I would fix it myself.

If the lens is stuck out then you will find it is usually one of a few reasons.

1. Check the
batteries. (obvious I know).
2. The
camera has been dropped or knocked.
3. The camera has grit or dirt in the lens mechanism.

Providing the batteries are ok then 2 and 3 usually mean a professional repair. The lenses tend not to be something that the average
home user can remove and take apart. The cost of repair also might be more than the camera value so you will need to find a good repair shop near you and get a quote.

Focus problem olympus fe 34o

Not focusing at every distance - close to far ?? That seems like a lens problem to me and how the lens is focused, once its fully extended, varies between camera brands. .
Have you dropped this camera or knocked the lens when it has been open ?? Or have you dropped it at the beach and got sand or grit in the lens ??. If it is a lens problem it will have to go back to the service agent for repairs - ther is nothing you can adjust inside unless you are a camera technician

Olympus Fe-310, lens is messed. Possible sand in it but not sure.

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ... Here's some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for less than 50% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

My olympus fe-370 lens wont close??

the simple thing you can do is take the camera to the nearest service center and get the lens array replaced. it would cost around 60$. remember never drop the camera down to the floor. that too in switched on condition. that has made the problem in your camera.thanks for contacting fixya!

Says card cover open when turning on.makes a buzzing noise then shuts back off

you should have either dropped it down the floor or it should have been affected with water or solvents. the only way is you have to take it to the service centre to change the lens array.

Camera won't turn on

Fixed! Several people I've described the problem to asked me if I dropped the camera, and I honestly did not remember dropping it, but I could've just forgot that it happened. Later, (after this was posted) it slipped out of my hand and fell to the carpeted floor. When I picked it up, I noticed that the lens shutter had moved (to be closer together). I turned it on, and after a few automatic adjustments, the camera was working like normal again! Perhaps the same thing that broke it, fixed it!

Olympus FE-210

Hey dramaqueen79,
It sounds like you have internal damage to the camera. I would have it looked at be an authorized service center. If you are fine with the performance of the camera and all you want to do is be able to upload your images you could purchase a card reader(for an xd memory card) that connects to a usb port, and upload your images directly to your computer with the card reader.

Sincerely,
Allan
