Question about HP DeskJet F380 All-In-One Printer

1 Answer

Printing photos When I want to print digital photos I can't seem to get the printer to select the ink from the photo cartridge that I've placed in the place of the black ink cartridge as indicated to do on the printer cover. I took the colour cartridge out to prove if it was being used for the photos and consequently no photo was produced. I've selected the photo printing and photo paper options before printing but in the colour section there's only the choice of colour or black ink- no photo ink. I tried selecting the black ink option (as the photo cartridge is taking the place of the black ink cartridge) but it just printed in black and white. Also i tried to put the photo cartridge into the colour cartridge slot but it wouldnt fit! Any ideas wd b great! Thanks.

Its ok I solved it! I didn't realise that all the photo cartridge does is gloss over the colour picture produced by the colour cartridge. I simply had to replace the colour cartridge which had run out, so now its all working perfectly!!

Easiest way possible? Take out the photo cartridge and put a piece of scotch tape on the ink part. That's what I do. But if you want to do it on your computer, then you will need to browse through your print settings. You can do this in Start Menu > Printers and Faxes, then right click on the printer and select Printing Preferences

Canon IP4200 printed great photos when new. My

Hi,

Although refill inks can be quite good, it is likely the cause. Several companies do make good refill inks for canon but they are specific to model lines and you have to be sure you get the right ones for photo colour.

The inks you're using are likely "universal" inkjet inks and are fine for everyday printing but are rarely ever colour corrected properly for photo.

My recomendation to all of my customers is always to keep a new cartridge handy for photos but to use the refilled ones whenever they are printing anything else as it will give you the best balance between print cost and print quality.

Draining the ink!

Printing photos with Epson drains the cartridges alot faster than printing documents. The dpi settings for photos are much higher to get the photo quality. Blue is a base color that helps to mix to create some of the colors in the photos so this is normal with the Epson brand. Hope this helps.

Ink not dry and significant smudging

there r various modes in the printer in which u have to print .and that u have to select.as you said it is printing properly on ordinary paper.the printer is perfect.the photo paper have less soaking power that ordinary paper.as the photo paper can consume ink but not so quickly as ordinary paper.
u just change that printmode and then check out how it prints.
for example the modes r ----------best mode printing.
better mode printing.
fine mode printing
normal mode printing.
draft mode printing
economy mode printing.
now i f u print in best mode it will consume lots of ink but will take lots of time to print.
if u select normal mode it will consume less ink and print quickly.

u can change the settings in printer properties.
thanks

Printing Photo's is too light.

First thing, are your printer ink cartridges empty?  If it is, or is very close to it, this may affect the quality of your photos.
If quantity of ink is not your problem, did you go under printer properties, and in options/settings---check the slow speed, or maximum quality of your photo.  You can even check what type of paper you are using so the printer can sdjust more specifically.

Printer lines in photo's

Click Start - All programs - HP - HP Solution center.

In HP solution center Click on the Printing Shortcuts tab. Select Photoprinting with borders or borderless. Click OK.
Then close the HP solution center. Try printing. Print photos always with Best quality.

If the issue persists check the ink level of both cartridges and use Photos Cartridge HP 58 to print photos. We insert the Photo cartridge in place of black cartridge.

Thanks

Photo printing

It is definite one cartridge is not running. You do one thing - 1. Write documents in MS-Word - select all - change the color to Red. Take print out. Check Printing is perfect or not.
2. Write documents in MS-Word - select all - change the color to Cyan. Take print out. Check Printing is perfect or not.
3. Write documents in MS-Word - select all - change the color to Yellow. Take print out. Check Printing is perfect or not.
I am sure when you changed the color to Cyan - it did not print Cyan or blank page you got.
So you must replace the Cyan cartridge or may be ink is not coming out through the passage. And first you have to check whether you have removed the plastic tape from the head of t he cartridge.
