Question about Teledyne Laars Laars Lite 2 Pool Heater 325,000 Btu / Natural Gas
We have a laars lite 2, when we opened the pool for the summer the following took place. Turned on the gas, set heat to high and heater on. The pilot would come on, the gas started flowing, the heater kicked on and ran for 3-5 seconds and then shut down. The cycle will repeat itself but we can't get the heater to keep running. The pressure switch? (the thing that hangs down from a coiled copper line with two wires coming out the bottom) is very hot.

It could be...does it open up at the point the heater shuts down? Check it with a DMM to see. It is more likely an issue with flame recognition off the pilot/ignitor. Check them for rust that would cause a faulty connection.
