First off know that Hardie Siding is brittle and will crack. It will not hold any weight so do not attach the mirror directly to the siding. Pre-drill the mounting holes through the siding and use a very long screw that will reach through the siding and screw into the sub-wall or wall studs. Apply silicone to the holes before attaching the mirror so as to prevent moisture from getting behind the siding.

What tiles are used for living areas?

That totally depends upon your personal tastes, and whether your subfloor is strong enough to handle the movement. The larger the tile, the more solid your subfloor needs to be. Moreover, NEVER lay ceramic or stone over tongue and groove hardwood floors .. far too much flex .. and don't buy into the "well .. we lay fiber cement board .. " Fiber cement underlayment does NOT add to stability or structural integrity.

So, what type of tile do you want? Then, it's beefing up your subfloor .. to accommodate. Add underlayment, thinset and set .. grout the floor and you should be good to go.

How do I hang a picture on a Durock cement board wall?

Please provide more information.
Cement board is usually used to as a waterproof wall.
many different 3M Brand Command hangers might work.

if you need to hang a picture in your shower, you may be spending too much time in the shower to require the need for entertainment, possibly need to "phone a friend"?

Canoe has damage on the front bow.

Bondo would probably work.

Also, you could laminate a few pieces of something like vinyl siding/facia board over the hole. If the canoe is ABS, the vinyl siding cold be "welded" / fused to the ABS with PVC primer & solvent/cement.
