Question about HP Pavilion dv7-1020us Notebook

My sound in my hp pavilion dv7-1240us is not working. How to fix? Volume is on and high. Can not hear anything by ear phone either.

Try unplugging your laptop. remove the battery. press and hold the power button for 30 or so seconds. install the battery and reboot. press f10 which will take you into the cmos/bios settings. save and exit...let it boot into windows. should work.

Uninstall the audio drivers and reinstall it again then if that dosent work you need to get a new audio hardware

Check it by using another headset or Speaker, if it's working, then the problem is with your headset. If not then there must be problem with the Audio Output Jack (plug). If possible, clean it using solution like acetone or Ipa solution. If all these don't fix, uninstall the driver and after running a registry cleaning, reinstall it. Good luck. Well if you really dont want to buy new head phones , go to best buy. Or look up on google who fixes earphones and where they fix them at. But i highly suggest you to get a new pair of ear phones.

Hello,the problem you are experiencing could be caused by two things,
1.Bad ear piece:this could be fixed by replacing the bad ear piece,you can get it fixed either by getting the ear piece parts from any phone accessories stores and fix it your self,or you visit a mobile phone engineer to fix it for you and your phone would work perfectly.
2.ear piece volume low:this could be fixed by dialling a number on your phone screen,then tap on the botton on the right side of your phone,ensure you tap the upper arrow to your desired volume level.

Reset Your Phone.Still have trouble Your Ear Speaker might be Damaged.Need to be Replaced....

I have HP laptop and i suddenly lost sound, i cant hear anything. i want the solution


Click start > Settings > Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices. Make sure it is not muted and volume is on high.
Click audio tab and under Default device is it set to SoundMAX HD Audio? if this device is not available try another device and click Apply and test. (you may need to close windows media player or whatever is playing the sound and reopen after changing default device)

People can hear me speak but I can't hear them


Sound inducers do go bad. Normal the same audio amplifier is used for both the ear piece and the speaker. Since the speak does work, it sounds like the ear piece has died.

Headphone Speaker Jack Needs Replacement


That honestly sounds more like a headphone wire problem than anything else. If you have another headset, headphones or speaker system that you can hook up, I would test it on those to try to rule that out as a problem.

If that isnt it, I can try to find the disassembly instructions for your laptop. (Unless your warranty is still good, in which case I would tell you to send it in and get it fixed professionally.)

Volume is non-existant on LG VX 4400


When you press vol up & down it will indicate "ringer ear jack." This means the phone is stuck in ear jack mode expecting a wired head phone accessory. Remove the battery then unscrew and pull out the antenna and the black plastic sleeve. Then remove the for small torx screws and carefully remove the back. Take a tooth pick to the back of the ear jack an bend the retainer pin back. Put everything back in reverse order and it should work fine.
