Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

When I turn my laptop on I get the Toshiba screen and it stays there forever or it goes to a completely black screen and won't go any further. What can I do? I've tried to turn it off and turn it back on while holding the zero down to restore it to factory settings like the manual says but it won't do anything.

Hi!

As a start, try this:
Shut the laptop off. Unplug is from the power adapter and remove the battery. Press the power button as if you're trying to power up the computer. Repeat pressing few times...
Wait 2 minutes then place the battery and power up.

If no luck, repeat the procedure, but this time reconnect ONLY the power adapter.

Please inform me of your success...
Good luck,
Pelu.

I'm not sure what causes it but it has something to do with electricity/power supply to the laptop.
It's not serious, as long as it doesn't happened more than once in a while...
If there was a power outage that can explain/cause this issue.

Unplug, remove battery, plug in reboot. OR, try a System Restore to a date before this issue. Have you cleaned the fan, vents, heatsink recently? Is it overheating? It would be helpful if we knew the Toshiba Model number and the OS you are using.

Toshiba A305 black screen

You can start by removing the HDD and testing, replace if necessary. Reseat the Memory Mods as well. Has there been any damage? Drop? I assume the blinking LED is the HDD?

Toshiba satellite laptop comes on and stays at windows xp page

If Safe Mode doesnt work then you may have to do a "repair" of your O/S. Place your Windows XP CD into the CD-Rom drive, reboot and once you see the options if you want to Install or Repair - choose Repair. This option will make repair to your O/S and for safe mode.
Once repair is complete do a complete Anti-Virus and Spyware scan of your Hard Drive. If you can boot into Safe Mode to run the ani-virus much better.

Toshiba Satellite P200 doesn't boot

Try pressing FN/F5 keys simultaneously, or the key that toggles internal/external Display. Look for the double screen Icons on the keys.

Tap the Pause Key.

Restart and press and hold F8 key when Toshiba logo appears. When the boot Menu appears, select Last Known Good Configuration.

If all else fails ther should be a reset button on the side of the LT. Consult owners Manual for location
