Hi,

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.

Goodluck!

The Boot Manager file may be corrupted or as it says missing. You must reinstall the operating system. Use the hidden recovery partition if it (still) exists or the recovery media that shipped with the computer. If no recovery media came with the computer, you must contact the Vendor and order them. You will in all likelihood have to pay for them.

Advent 4211 will not read linux on usb

Ubuntu has a very user friendly setup. You have the option to download onto USB and either setup (install) or run from USB (good for testing). Same thing for CD's. I like Dual Boot for maximum flexibility. Just install within Windows. Spend a little time on their site to determine what is best for you. Lastly Backtrack 5 also has same options with interfaces to choose from.

Advent 4211 recovery

Go to the factory web site and order one if one did not come with your purchase. Good thing to have. Place in tray and follow onscreen instructions. Make sure if you have pictures or things that mean a lot to you get some USB Sticks and save them before re-installing using the recovery options. John

My rebooted my advent 4211-b netbook to factory setting by the tech guys on the netbook but now my netbook wont start up, it says the window boot configuration data file does not contain a valid os entry

Welcome to Fixya

Error means the boot files are missing or damaged. Try to restore the computer using the disk that came with it instead of using the recovery console.

Thank you for using Fixya!

Cannot get my wifi to work onmy advent 4211-b

Hi! Try to use the function key: FN+F11 to enable the wireless adapter. Check device manager if driver is properly installed. If yes, try to update the driver:right click on the realtek wireless LAN in device manager and then choose properties and then click update, choose automatically look for update from internet. If this doesnt work try to uninstall and reinstall the driver (make sure you restart the system after reinstalling the driver). If you have AVG as your anti virus sw try to disable it or uninstall it and then check if it will work.hope this will help...

Reboot an advent notebook to original settings

the computer shoulda came with a disk and that would be your operating system disk so put it in, then start your computer and if it doesnt boot to the disk, then hit F2 and change the boot options and make it boot from the disk and so when it does boot, then thats when u can reinstall windows back to factory settings but i dunno about advent notebooks. in HP tho, u can do it from the start menu cuz the reinstall settings are already on your computer so ya dont need the disk
