Where's all my songs?! Or the folders, for that matter?

marth - in the menu, go to Settings --> USB Mode --> Autodetect; if it is already set to auto, then change to either MTP mode or MSC mode - one mode will show Audible/Recordings, and the other will show your Music
this player had a messed up file system, which is wqhy you're experiencing that problem
guest - your mp3 player is incompatible with protected Rhapsody WMA's - switch to Rhapsody's mp3-only subscription level, and reload the songs, and they will play fine (remember: with rhapsody, once your 30-day trial or subscription expires, any WMA files will become useless. Stick with their mp3 subscription, and you will be fine).

Won't turn on.

Fixed my "dead" Sansa by opening the back, removing the battery then putting it back in. This appears to have rebooted the system and now it's working fine. No files were lost.

(I did try holding down the on/off button prior to this but got no response at all.)

Sansa shaker mp3 player

I bought one of these for my son this Christmas and it's been nothing but problems.

It wouldn't play songs in folders. So i deleted the folders and dropped in mp3's and it played fine for a while. Then it just stopped working. Changed the battery and it still wouldn't work. Plugged it into our PC and couldn't access the sandisk at all. Windows would recognize the device but upon clicking on it I was asked to insert a disk into the drive.

Two days later I try again and this time it insists that the drive has not been formatted. So I format the drive, losing all the data that I couldn't access anyway and I was finally able to drag more songs onto the players disk. All of the songs previously on the player were gone of course.

It played fine for a few minutes but then it began to shut off after about 20 seconds of play. I double checked the format on the songs on the player to make sure they were mp3. I tried using different songs - same results. And now it's returned to my original problem. I can't access the sandisk and windows is asking me to insert a disk into the drive.

This very simple to use player is so simple that's it's a defective piece of junk.

Frozen on.

Problem resolved. I just let it sit until battery went down far enough for "Battery" alert to come on screen.
From there I put a charge on it and everything works fine now. Probably I should have kept it charged up.

Won't play any songs.

I had this problem with my player (th 1101) when I was transferring songs from iMesh. After awhile I found out that even though I could listen to the files on the computer some wouldn't go on the mp3 player. Looked it up and there is an encoding on some tracks (preimium tracks they call it) that unless you pay for them they won't transfer off the computer (CD, MP3 players ect.). They also had free tracks that works just fine. Hope that helps
