Ignitor keeps sparking on infrared burner. Burner will ignite if i turn on. Sparks when any lower burner is on.

the valve has a tab that connects with another tab when pressed in to close a circuit, cause spark. The wires coming off the module are chained from valve to valve with separate wires running from the valve to the electrode of each. Basic maintenance: make sure connections are tight, if metal is exposed wrap with electrical tape. You're getting a short from one of them jumping off the spade connection. Remove the control panel and just check the wires, clean the tabs and you'll fix this.

Jenn- Air rotisserie burner wont lite. Doesn't

Try removing the cover on the back of the grill hood and finding the orifice for the rear burner. Check to see if the orifice is plugged.

Can not get rotisserie burner to light

There may be several reasons the rotisserie burner will not light. First, the orifice to the burner itself may be clogged or partially clogged preventing gas flow. There may be a problem with the spark generator, the wire running from the spark generator to the electrode, or the electrode itself. The first thing to check is the gas flow. When you turn on the valve for the rotisserie burner you should hear and smell the gas if it is flowing. Light the rotisserie burner with a manual lighter, if it lights manually, then the gas if flowing.
The seconc thing to look for is a spark from the electrode when you turn or push, depending on the type of spark generator you have. If there is no spark, the it is most likely an ignition system problem. If you have a battery operated spark generator, replace the battery and try again. If the spark generator is a piezo, you have to repalce the spark generator. If you install a new battery, or replace the piezo spark generator, and there is still no spark, then you have to get to the wire and the electrode. Look for bare spots in the wire insulation that would cause a short. Check the electrode for a cracked or broken insualtor. In either case, the wire and/or the electrode will need to be replaced.

I have a stainless steel Ducane BBQ with five burners plus side burner and a rottisserie burner , which does not work. It is approx 5 years old and I have never used the rottisserie till last week. I have...

Since you've never used it. It may simply be a case that the infrared rotisserie burner is dirty and clogged with grease from cooking on the main burners. In addition, the Thermocouple and the igniter for that burner may also have a grease build up. In which case it won't allow the burner to light.

The electronic igniter that lights the main burners, also ignites the the rotisserie burner. Are you geting the click noise on the main burner igniters? If not, the battery in the igniter button needs to be replaced. Be sure to take note of the way the old battery is facing, when you unscrew the igniter cap. Because, that's the way the new battery should face.

Also, try match lighting the rotisserie burner. To do this, turn the Rotisserie Burner's Control Knob to the ON position and push it in, as you touch the lit match to the burner. If the burner lights continue to hold the burner knob in for a couple of minutes. This allows the Thermocouple and the ceramic plaques to heat up completely. Then slowly release the burner knob and the burner should remain lit.

If it doesn't stay lit, clean the burner and the Thermocouple ,in the manner that is described in your Owner's Manual.

Hope this helps you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know and Happy Grilling!!

I have a stainless steel grill. The Rotisserie will light, but the burners will not. I purchased the grill in 2005.I have taken the grill apart and the tubes are clear. There is NO spark going to them. I...

The ignitor wire to the burners my have come loose or has lost full contact. Trace the wiring from the Ignitor Button to the main burners. Note if it loose or has come completely off. Also, check inside the grill at each burner to see if the ingnitors are covered with grease. If that's the case, clean them with alcohol and either a rag or a cotton ball. If all this fails to solve your problem, change the battery in the Ignitor Button with a brand new Alkaline type battery.

Hope this helps solve your problem. Happy Grilling!

My new Dacor rotisserie motor quit working after several minutes.

You will have a difficult time with some parts but if it is the motor then an electric motor repair place can help, it should not be that bad of a repair bill. I am answering this, this way because I am assuming that you rotisserie item is balanced correctly and is not am odd shape that would be difficult to rotate.....or to large to hit the lid or shelves when rotating.

Rotisserie burner won't light

It could be a dirty or inop spark electrode. Also could be weak batteries in the spark igniter.

Before you start you should make sure that the ignition system has fresh batteries. The batteries are usually located within the igniter button but not always. Some BBQs will have a battery pack located somewhere on the BBQ and others you can remove the igniter button by turning it left to reveal the battery.

First verify that the rotisserie burner can be lit manually. Take a BBQ lighter or long stick match and then put the flame right at the base of the burner where the electrode is and then slowly turn on the burner valve. It should light within four seconds. If it does not then shut the burner off and check for any restrictions in the gas line for the burner.

If it does light with a match then the spark electrode could be dirty, out of position or simply the wire for the ignition system is loose. Press the igniter button and watch the electrode for a good bright spark at the burner. If you do not see any spark you can verify that the igniter wire has not come loose and also gently adjust the position of the electrode end a little bit closer to the burner using a pair of needle nose pliers(It should not be touching the burner). It does not need to touch the burner but have a really small gap.You can use a small wire brush to gently clean the electrode of any debris that might be causing a weak or no spark

If you are unable to remedy the non-spark issue all is not lost. You can still use the manual lighting procedure I described to light the burner. And remember to be careful when trying these procedures. I do not want you to get injured from delayed gas ignition. Be careful and have a safe holiday.

Only the infared burner does not ignite.

If you have a push button sparker the wire may be off or the sparker may be worn. You can check for spark when it is dark out. If you dont think you have spark then try to light the burner the "old school" way just hold a match or flame to the white area and then turn and hold the gas knob. If you can light it the old school way then its your spark. I would remove the sparker (unscrew the plastic nut on it remove the wire if its stll on) and test it on your hand. If the sparker works you will know because you will get a shock from the end of it. If you dont get a shock then you need to buy a new one. I hope this helps

Ducane 3400042 lighting problems

Good answer... but remember (if you have the regular burners on... The Rotisserie will not light.) 1. Cut all knobs off... Then push and hold in Rotisserie button as you turn to high.
2. Press ignition button, until you hear rotisserie ignite. 3. Keep holding in the rotisserie button until the thermostat realizes the gas is on and burning. (IT must get hot enough to keep gas flowing.) Hope that helps, Dave
