Have you stored these lost photos on the memory card of this camera?
If you have, you do have possibilities to retrieve them all back.
What you should do is really simple:
Firstly, stop using this camera or inner memory card immediately in case that any new file would overwrite your original photos and make them gone permanently. So, you should take care!
Secondly, plunge this camera to your computer and prepare to retrieve all your deleted photos.
Thirdly, apply a photo recovery freeware to retrieve all your deleted photos back successfully:
http://www.freeware-fix.blogspot.com/2013/02/photo-recovery.html
I believe this data recovery freeware can work perfectly on your camera memory card just in the same way as it completely retrieves all the deleted data of my friend off from his phone memory card.
Just give it a shot here:

Fourthly, save and back up all the restored photos on a different memory card or drive in case of data recovery failure.
Note: Never forget to back up everything important at least on two memory cards or locations in the future.
Good luck!

How to connect a vivtar vivicam 5299 to a computer

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Cannot find replacement usb cable for Vivitar Vivicam 5299

This reads the removable memory card in your camera

For $19, it's much easier than trying to find the OEM replacement cable which fits ONLY that camera.

I dont know how to use the flash on my vivicam 5299

After switching on camera press the top left button (next to menu) to scroll through flash off, auto & on.
Default seems to be off, which means you have to remember to switch it on every time you use it. (bummer)
