Look at the lens in the light from a desk lamp. Is it smeared from your "shirt" cleaning? If so, try cleaning it with some camera lens cleaning fluid and a microfiber cloth.

Black fuzzy spot in pictures

Have you verified that it is in the picture and not the screen by transferring the photos to your computer?

You way have some dust or lint that got on the lens if the photos have that problem.

Just take an eyeglass cloth and spray wither eyeglass cleaner, or just a little dab of alcohol and then wipe the lens clean.

try reseting the camera to factory defaults, theres either a option for that in the menus or there should also be a reset hole somewhere.

How to disassemble lens on a casio exilim ex-z75

Jim, I really wouldn't recommend this. It requires extreme patience and meticulous parts tracking. Note that junctions stated: "It's really hard to take apart,", and he ain't kidding.
Really recommend that you return to the remedies that you had been trying. Sometimes it requires many repeated tries to free the gunk from the shutter. I've found that for the smaller pocket cameras that the most effective solution seems to be extending the lens and tapping around the lens barrel with a pen/pencil. Then alternately opening the battery door with the camera turned on (no need to play with shutter modes). Then just alternate with tapping, battery door, tapping, battery door, and keep doing this until the shutter opens/closes. Once this happens, set the camera to continuous shutter mode and snap off about 100 pictures to final lubricate the shutter.Good Luck,t00nz aka CR

Images are blurry, fuzzy

Good day,

I have heard a lot of complaints about people taking Blurry Photos.

There are a few possibilities for it and a few easy fixes.

The first possibility I would identify is a dirty lens. To fix this simply take a clean microfiber cloth and gently clean the lens until there are no smudges visible.

The other possibility I would identify is that the pictures are out of focus.
This problem can be caused by a dirty lens or because the object or person was not focused on. To ensure focus on your photos, line up your shot and wait for the camera to focus by pressing the shutter button half way down. When focused press the shutter button in all the way and hold the camera still until the photo appears on the screen. By doing this you will eliminate any motion that might mess up your shot.

Please let me know if these tips work for you!

Regards

Pictures have all become fuzzy even when I hold the camera still.

you got it in one my dear!
it could be fluff on the lens? or dirt on the lens, or even a smug, but wipe it very lightly to clean it off!!!!
or its the auto focus (ei: a part in the camera that gets the pitcher in sharp focus for you) has just droped dead on you, as its very unlikly you could turn this bit off!! there is only one other thing i can think of and thats down to how you are using it?? like stabing at the shutter button, pushing the camera to one side when taking a photo??? the only time i had that problem was when i was at a big party,,,
but it was down to me falling over every time i took a photo!!!!!!!!!!!! i was p*ss*d again?
next time il take more water with it?

I have a Casio Exilim 7.2 when it is turned on the display is blurry, the photo is blurry and I think the lens in not coming all the way out when it is turned on.The battery is fully charged.

You could be right about the lens...you can try zooming in and out severel times and gently and very discreet try to pull out the lens.Dust and moisture can block the mooving part of the objective so a little shaking and wipeing would help. Also the problem could be in the settings of your camera...you could try resetting to the default settings and probably it will correct the blur caused by the bad focusing(or just try modify the autofocus to manual focus).A third option-in the worse case scenario- would be a scratched(or very dirty) objective that leads to a bad focusing and causing the blurryness.Try wipeing the objective with a soft cloth.Hope it will help you...

Fuzzy view and fuzzy pictures

I posted on Nov. 25th that I was having the same problem and would be contacting Casio to report the issue. Well did and want to update all of you on the results. I have great news on the blur/fuzzy issue for the EX-Z70 Casio. I called the Casio help line 800-706-2534 and explained the problems I was having with the camera - and mentiond that I believed this to be a manufacturer's defect as I found postings on the internet from other owners of the same camera which were bought around the same time I made my purchase. The rep was very helpful. She instructed me to write exactly what I told her in a letter and mail the camera to the address she provided. If I had my receipt I should include a copy of it - which I did. I mailed the camera requesting repair or replacement on Nov. 26, 2007 and received my camera back today Dec 6, 2007. That's only ten days - Repaired!! The repair report indicates the lens assembly and lens ring were replaced - and a new battery was incuded in the box. The packing slip indicates Defect Code #11. So this IS a camera defect and they were absolutely GREAT about repairing it ASAP and supplying me with a new battery too. Call Casio today and you will have your camera back by Christmas. Have a Merry Christmas - and take lots of pics! Debra - OnPeaHill!
