I have connected my nanomax ipod to the computer and it is not charging.how should i charge it?

Good morning, afternoon, evening or night; whatever time you are viewing this solution post. Thank you for choosing FixYa to solve your problem. So you have connected your Nanomax iPod to the computer and it's not charging like it's supposed to, and you want to know how you should charge it properly? There are two ways you can charge the battery - charging via your Dock Connector to USB Cable, or the Apple USB Power Adapter (which is sold separately). Here are the step by step instructions to charging your and Nanomax.

Using the Dock Connector to USB Cable
  1. Using your Dock Connector to USB Cable, plug the dock connector end to your iPod and plug the USB end to your computer. Make sure the computer you are using has a USB 2.0 port (check your computer's technical specifications to see if it's USB 2.0 certified). Most USB ports on the keyboards of laptops do not provide enough power to perform charging activities. If you have a Docking Station, plug the docking connector into the station and placed the iPod in the station as well.
  2. Make sure your computer is fully awake and not asleep (meaning in sleep mode).
  3. A fully charged battery takes 3 hours to complete. An 80% charged battery takes an hour and 30 minutes. The battery is charging when it shows the charging icon (a battery not fully shaded in green, with a lightning bolt). The battery is done charging when the "fully charged" icon shows (a green-shaded battery with a 2-prong plug showing).
  4. When you are done, disconnect the cable from your computer.
Using the Apple USB Power Adapter
  1. Connect the Alternating Current (AC) Plug Adapter with the power adapter (if connected already, skip this step).
  2. Using your Dock Connector to USB Cable, connect the dock connector end to your iPod and the USB end to the power adapter.
  3. Plug the power adapter into a polarized wall outlet or surge protector outlet.
I think you connected everything correctly, but the USB port on your computer did not have enough power to charge your battery. If that's the case, you will have to find a computer that has a USB 2.0 port on it (like a desktop PC or MAC, or a car adapter charging device) and connect to it, or use the USB Power Adapter (sold seperately). I think this pretty much answers your question. I hope this benefits you the best way possible. Once again, thank you for choosing Fixya as your one-stop solution spot for your problems. Have a good day, evening or night; whatever time you are viewing this, and visit us again the next you need assistance troubleshooting.

sounds like the situation is with the AC adapter detection. try to restore your BIOS defaults and update BIOS if applicable. Test another AC adapter. If that fails, most likely, this is with the motherboard. You may either get a new board, or just continue to charge it using the docking station.

Won't accept AC

A couple things to check. In most cases the AC adapter itself fails and needs to be replaced.
  1. If there is another D series AC adapter available, try the system with it and see if the system works. If it does, replace the AC adapter.
  2. If no known good adapter is available, see if the AC adapter is putting out around 19 Volts DC at the connector that would normally plug into the system (Ground is outside of plug, + is the inside not the pin in the center) If you have no power detected, replace the adapter.
  3. If the LED on the AC adapter is not on when disconnected from the system but plugged into the wall, replace the adapter.
  4. If the LED goes out when plugged into the system or the DC jack on the system is loose, then you most likely need the jack replaced or the motherboard replaced both are about $100

Remove Any Docking Stations or Port Replicators From the Computer Note: Docking stations and port replicators are optional equipment. If you are unsure if you have a docking solution attached to your computer, refer to Table 1 and Table 2 for examples. To remove the docking station or port replicator, perform the following steps: Shut down the computer. Remove the docking station: Universal Docking Stations: Disconnect the docking station's USB cable from the computer. D/Port or D/Dock: Remove any cable locks from the security slot on the right side of the docking station. Move the slide lock forward to the unlocked position. Press the Eject button and lift the computer from the docking station. C/Port II or C/Dock II: Remove any cable locks from the security slot on the left side of the docking station. Pull the locking lever forward until it stops to eject the computer, then slide the computer out of the docking station. Dell manufactures the following docking stations and port replicators (Table 1): D-series DocksC-series DocksSpecialty Docks D/PortLatitude? C/Port IIMedia Bases D/DockLatitude? C/Dock IIInspiron? Plug the AC Adapter into a Known-Good Wall Outlet Verify the wall outlet is known-good by testing it with another device, such as a lamp. Confirm there are no power strips, surge protectors, or uninterruptible power supplies (UPS devices) connected to the power cable. UPS devices provide temporary power for a computer when there is no electricity available from the wall socket, such as during a power outage. Plug the power cable into the known-good wall outlet. Power up the system. Replace the MiniPCI Door, Rubber Feet, and System Motherboard

If the docking station charging doesn't work either and your battery is ok you have lost voltage regulator (it prevents overcharging of battery) Take the battery to a battery plus store and they can check it..

Dock wont charge

1 the connection of portable devices, just may not be working, or it could be loose( try pushing it all the way, until it doesn't go down).

2 and if that, doesn't work. Then try finding another AC adapter that has the same energy output.
(when you look at the paper that is posted on the front of the ac adapter, you can two sections INPUT and OUTPUT) try finding another adapter that has the same OUTPUT numbers and plug it into the device.

3 Lastly. If the device is not new, then the battery may be dead, and it won't charge anymore.

try steps 1 to 3 and see if any of those solve your problem.

good day

Dead battery

According to the manual, this item can be charged by placing the unit into the docking station and plugging it into the USB port of your computer. The computer can charge the item for you.

The only other way I can think of is if the docking station has a DC input jack available and describes the required voltage for charging the player. If this is the case, you can go to your local Radio Shack and pick up an AC/DC converter with the correct voltage rating and plug it in that way.

Good luck.
