Question about HP PhotoSmart C4180 All-in-One Color InkJet Photo Printer
When the printer tells you "wrong cartridge", it is because it cannot recognize the cartridge.
Remove the color cartridge and gently wipe the electric contacts on it with a dry cloth. Put the cartridge back in and check for error messages.
If the problem persists, you will need to buy a new color cartridge, because the one you have is damaged- one of the contacts on it has blown, and when you place it in the printer, it won't recognize it, because one of the contacts is missing (that is why some printers give a warning sign "cartridge missing").
Hope that helps!

Testimonial: "After taking the re-filled cartrideges back on 2 seperate ocassions one finally worked. It appears from the advice at the shop that it is 99% sure to be the cartridge not the printer this now turns out to be true. In future I will buy new cartridges, this will save time and money in travel. The advice was exceptionally helpfull. "
