Hello,

The screen is blank with no raster at all. There are indications that the channel numbers are changing in the display. This indicates that some of the low voltages are present but these may be derived from the standby supply.

Assuming there is no deflection and no High Voltage , you either have a low voltage power supply problem, bad startup circuit, or bad horizontal output transistor (HOT) or other bad parts in the horizontal deflection.

Check for bad fuses.

(If you have High Voltage as indicated by static electricity on the front of the screen and you hear the high pitched whine of the horizontal deflection when it is turned on, then the following does not apply).

Use an ohmmeter to test the HOT for shorts. If it is bad, look for open fusable resistors or other fuses you did not catch.

Assuming it is good, measure the voltage on the collector-emitter of the HOT (this is safe if there is no deflection). You should see the B+ - probably between 100 and 150 V.

If there is no voltage, you have a low voltage power supply problem and/or you have not found all the bad/open parts.

If there is voltage and no deflection (no high pitched whine and no High Voltage), you probably have a startup problem - all TVs need some kind of circuit to kick start the horizontal deflection until the auxiliary power outputs of the flyback are available. Some Zeniths use a simple multivibrator for this - a couple of transistors. Others power the horizontal osillator. IC from a special line-derived voltage. The multivibrator type are sometimes designed to fail if someone keeps turning the set on and off (like kids playing) since the power rating is inadequate.

Test the transistors if it is that type with an ohmmeter. If one is shorted, you have a problem. The usual way a TV service person would test for startup problems is to inject a signal to the base of the HOT of about 15.75 kHz. If the TV then starts and runs once this signal is removed, the diagnosis is confirmed. This is risky - you can blow things up if not careful (including yourself). See the section: Bypassing the Startup Circuit for details.

If you hear the high pitched whine of the deflection and/or feel some static on the scree, confirm that the horizontal deflection and high voltage are working by adjusting the SCREEN control (probably on the flyback). If you can get a raster then your problem is probably in the video or chroma circuits, not the deflection or high voltage.
Hope this help

Samsung Plasma TV has standby power but no video

Make sure your video and sound cable is working (rca, hdmi cable etc) and your source component like dvd player or settop box is working. If cable is plug into a socket AV 3 or HDMI 3 for e. g. make sure the tv is source or input is selected the same like AV 3 etc.

It is possible for the TV to switch on or off but no picture or sound. This means the input board or tv tuner is faulty in which case you need a good tv repair technician

I have pink color horizontal lines on my LG LCD monitor screen,How do i solve it?

You can fix you have to follow this instruction

1-Reset the TV by unplugging its power cord for 30 seconds and plugging it back in. This is an essential troubleshooting tool as a simple reset often will resolve the great majority of technical issues experienced by any kind of TV. Power the TV on after plugging it back in and check the picture for any improvement.

2-Unscrew the coaxial cable that attaches your wall cable outlet to either the coaxial cable input on the plasma TV or to any digital cable converters you may use at home. Check the copper needle in the middle of the cable for any bending or damage and screw the cable back on the coaxial input. Again, check the picture for any improvements.

3-Secure the audio/video connection cables that attach the source device you are trying to watch to the plasma TV. This is a particularly important step if you use component cables. Component cables separate a video signal into different colors, so a damaged or loose component cable can lead to noticeable discoloration on the screen. Once the cables are secure, both in the source device and the plasma TV, check the picture again to see if this may have resolved the issue.

4-Scan your channel lineup and check the other TVs in your home to determine the scope of the problem. If you see the discoloration only on one or a few channels, and the same channels are discolored on the other TVs in your home, you may be part of a cable service outage and you will need to report the issue to your cable provider. If all the channels on the one TV have the same discoloration, and the other TVs in the home look normal, the plasma TV likely will need to be serviced for a problem with its picture components.

hope that it helped

Sound but no picture

Start by eliminating the variables. Connect a source that you know is working (e.g. a VCR or DVR that is working on another TV) to your TV. If you get the same result, connect it to a different input and, if possible, different input type. If you still get the same result, your TV is bad. Most standard TVs are not worth fixing since it costs almost as much to fix them as to purchase a new one.

If changing the input fixes the problem, the TV has a bad input and you can just switch to a new input.

If changing the source fixes the problem, your source is bad and needs to be repaired or replaced.

Be sure to use cables that you know to be good by testing them on another source/TV system.

If changing the cables fixes the problem, then replace the cables.

It sounds like the backlight is out. If you can see a faint image that changes then this is the case. You either need to send in for repair or replace. It can if you are lucky be a connection. You can try removing the video cable and try another source or cable.

Plasma tv has sound but no picture

Check all the cable connections at the back, if you are using an external receiver , then check the Video cable, eventually try a replacement one.

Try leaving the TV set unplugged for a couple of hours, this will drain power completely and, if there is no real fault , this can fix the problem.

If that does not fix it, then thereis an internal fault.

Common faults that cause audio but no picture concern, digital board, controller board, sustain boards, Plasma screen ribbon cables, and plasma display.

Call the number listed on the owner manual to get assistance.

If the warraty is expired no longer than three years, ask the price fod r a warranty extension calling same number in the manual.

Sony 60" HDTV Plasma WEGA....Picture Problem

Sounds like your component cables may have come off its contact point. Check to see if your cables have become loose. Pushing them back in place should take care of that but check at the source output and the TV's input. Red Green Blue, when ever one of these 3 come out of contact the TV will produce a color hue relevant to what color remains in contact, looking faint and discolored. If you do find a loose cable connection, inspect the contact ends and squeeze lightly to restore a snug fit but don't do it to hard or you may damage the prongs.
