Question about Lenovo ThinkPad R60 Notebook

1 Answer

I have Lenovo R60. There is a problem while loading windows xp.

I have Lenovo R60. From the past 2 days my windows xp is not loading properly. While it is loading at the starting, it stops in between. Sometimes it completely loads. But then when I reach the desktop & move my mouse it then stops. THe light which represents that anything is loading stops. I checked the hard disk diagonostics & it shows that the hard disk is completely fine & there is no problem with it. Please help me.

There might be a minor system glitch on your system. Perform a system restore in you system and restore your computer from the date where it is working fine then observe. If same issue will occur then you need to send it to our repair department for further checking.

Please follow these steps to make it work:

1. Uninstall the wireless driver using Add/Remove Programs
2. Uninstall the Hotkey utility using its Setup program (uninstall is an option in the Setup app; it doesn't appear in Add/Remove Programs control panel)
3. Restart
4. Delete the Hotkey folders from C:\Program Files\Lenovo\PkgMgr [key step!]
5. Reinstall the Hotkey Utility and the wireless driver (don't reboot if prompted)

The problem is that the "inverter" inside the LCD screen has failed.

It's about a $20 part to replace, but I recommend that you take the computer to a qualified technician for proper disassembly/repair/reassembly/testing of the LCD.

SOUND CARD NOT FOUND BY WINDOWS

Go to the ThinkPad Website

Put in the information for your computer and search for an audio driver. It will be a free download. Follow all of the instructions that come with the driver.

I would provide a direct link to the driver, but you did not list the specific Type of Thinkpad R60 that you own. There are many types. Also it may matter if you have XP SP1 or SP2.
