My kenmore dryer started thumping today after working perfectly for many years. Model number 110-69912990.
Is this either the rollers or the drum roller supports?

So far Ihaven't taken any steps, but plan to open it up now.

    thank you.

Usually this is a symptom of the drum roller supports going bad. Some model dryers have two rollers, while others have four. I need to be sure. Please post back with your COMPLETE model number (located around the door opening) and I can give you better advice and provide you with part numbers.

PS If it IS the rollers, this is not an expensive repair.

Kenmore 80 Series dryer's drum is making a thump

I would check all the screw's to make certain they are tight. That was my problem when mine was making noise. Look on the interior of the drum.

My new maytag dryer has a thumping sound when it runs, full or empty. it also has a rattle.

I am wondering if all packaging material was removed from the dryer. If you installed it yourself, please check through your manual and installation guide to see where packaging material may be located.

The dryer sounds like an unbalanced washer. Sound is coming from the front top left side. Machine diesn't move. does it even when empty. Began after was on for about 10 minutes.

Possible bad bearing for the drum front or maybe a drive belt with a missing segment that thumps with every revolution. You will need to open the top to inspect--either screws in the back edge of the top or insert a thin putty knife into the front corners to release a spring catch on each side. Hope this helps!

SOUNDS LIKE YOU ARE DRYING SHOES IN THE DRYER. EVEN WHEN THE DRYER IS EMPTY!

Bad rollers

These rollers get a flat spot on them and make a thump type noise with every revolution. More HERE

Dryer heats but drum does not turn when the start button is pushe

You need to check the drum belt. With dryer empty, reach in and give it a spin. If the belt is good, it will stop in 1/2 turn or less when released. If the belt broke, it will spin almost a full turn.

New dryer makes a loud thumping full or

I hope he did nt charge you. Because of the seam in a dryer drum, they do make a slight thumping noise but it should not be real loud. I hope the tech took the dryer apart and checked the rollers. One of them may have a flat spot.
I would ask for a factory represent ive to come out and see if they think they would want a dryer in there home that make that much noise.
Please rate solution

Just moved, dryer won't tumble with a load. Error code PF

Did it get tipped in the move? I don't know about the specific model of Maytag, but on my old Kenmore the belt that ran the drum also had a wheel and kind of like a pulley that it had to seated on in order for the belt to stay centered on the drum and turn properly.I don't know how you get the shell off the front to get at the drum, the Kenmore had screws that you had to take out and lift the control panel off and then back to get at the inside. Sorry

Maytag front load dryer thumps while turning, empty, full etc.

If your Maytag is like my Maytag, there are two screws at the two bottom corners of the front panel. Once you remove both screws the front panel will lift out, up, and off. Then you can see what is going on inside.

Constant "thumping" sound when dryer is going

you can fix it by ordering a whirlpool roller kit but its no big deal the drum sits on rubber rollers when it just sits the rolers get flat spots on them like tires and makes the thumping sounds its just noisey but no big deal but they do make a kit with softer rollers
