My computer has power, but when turned on it will not boot to windows. I followed your trouble shooting instructions as to ""turn the computer off and remove the power cord from the computer. Hold the power button down for 30 seconds, and released the power button and plug the power cord back in to unit. Than turn the unit back on."" This does not solve the problem, Any other solutions???? Don

    Here's the problem:

If the computer is left and not use for a long duration ie:(4hours)

When attempting to turned on the computer, it would not boot into windows, the powered red and green indicator lights would light up but will not boot into windows and no beeping noises. It seems to freeze at this stage with no screen display.
At this stage I would have to unplug the power cord from the back of the computer and replug into the system and than turn on the computer again. This always work on the second try. This problem started last fall.

    Hey fix ya group

It took several days of manually turning the power button off and on as the computer was used. It must have been in a deep coma, but finally woke up and is operating normal.

Thanks again for the help and Happy Earth Day

How to stop Windows 10 from automatically restarting after idle for around 5-15 minutes.

The kernel power event ID 41 error occurs when the computer is shut down, or it restarts unexpectedly. When a computer that is running Windows starts, a check is performed to determine whether the computer was shut down cleanly. If the computer was not shut down cleanly, a Kernel Power Event 41 message is generated.
Before we proceed with the troubleshooting steps, please answer the questions given below.
a)Do you remember making any changes prior to this issue?
b)Did you check if all the drivers are up to date?
Let us follow the methods given below.
Method 1: Run System maintenance troubleshooter.
Follow these steps:
a) Press Windows key + W on the keyboard
b) Type Troubleshooter then click on Settings under the Search field
c) In Settings click on Find and Fix Problems
d) Click on System and security
e) Click System maintenance follow the prompts from there.
Method 2: Try booting the computer in safe mode and perform a clean boot.
Step 1: Perform Safe Mode
Click the link and follow the steps "Windows Startup Settings (including safe mode)"
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/windows-startup-settings-including-safe-mode
Check if you face the same issue in safe mode. If the issue doesn't persists in safe mode, the place the computer in clean boot and check.
Step 2: Perform Clean Boot.
To help troubleshoot error messages and other issues, you can start Windows 8 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This kind of startup is known as a "clean boot." A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Important: Reset the computer to start as usual.
Note: After you have finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to boot to normal startup.

Error code 0x800B010E wont connect wireless to internet, trouble shoot wont work. path c:\windows\diagnostics\system\networking. content restricted. please help......

I am assuming you are running Vista or Windows 7. According to Microsoft this error is an issue with .NET framework. They suggest you turn off .Net, restart your computer, then turn .NET back on. Here are the instructions they give you.

Error code 0x80131700 is usually relevant to the old version of .NETFramework installed on your system. By default, the built-in version ofMicorosoft .NET Framework is 3.5.1. You can reinstall Microsoft .NETFramework 3.5 Service Pack 1 through the following steps:

Step 1:

a) Click the Start and type: "features" in the Search box.
b) Select "Turn Windows Features on or off " and click Enter.
c) Find Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 and uncheck the box.
d) Restart the computer.
e) Repeat the step 1) to step 2.
f) Check the box before Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1.
g) Restart the computer.

Step 2:

If the issue persists, then I suggest you to perform the process by booting the computer in Clean Boot and check.

http://support.microsoft.com/?id=929135

Note: Follow the step 7 to restart your computer as usual.

Please oh please help me. Acer laptop aspire 5920 Windows vista Home premium OEMAct First it shut down and this message came on: Broad com UNDI PXE-2. 1 v9.4.5 Then I shut it down and turn it on pressed...

Your computer tries to "boot" from several sources:
* your disk-drive
* your CD-ROM drive
* any USB device
* from a "boot-server" computer connected to your computer via an Ethernet cable

So, you computer tried to boot from the Broadcom Ethernet adapter, trying to "talk" to that "network boot server", via PXE ("Pre eXecution Environment").

What this probably means is that the computer failed to boot from the disk-drive, and so it tried the "alternate" boot-devices. If the disk-drive is disconnected (no power and/or no data cable) or if the disk-drive is "dead", then Windows cannot be loaded from it.

Take your computer to a qualified technician for professional trouble-shooting.

The Acer freezes all the time right when I turn it on. I can't get further than the message: Windows is starting now. Tried trouble shooting over the phone with an acer technician. I need to send it...

Before you send the computer for repair, please follow the below steps:
It may happen due to hardware failure, BIOS mismatch or due to static charge. Let us try the basic troubleshooting. Turn Off the Computer, remove all the devices attached to the computer, the power cable and battrey, now holdon the power button for 15 secs (make sure adpater and battery are uplugged) it will drain out all the static charge. Now, restart the computer and keep on tapping F2, you will enter to BIOS setup utility, press F9 (click "Yes", if you are prompted) and then press F10 (Click "Yes", if you are prompted), it will restart the computer. If still it is not booting to normal mode, then we have to perform a full system recovery & it is a distructive process as you will loose all the datas on the computer. To do so, Turn Off the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key & keep on tapping "F10" key, i.e Alt+f10, it will open the recovery console, select full factory restore and follow onscreen instruction. NOTE: This will erase all the datas on the computer.

Hi,
There are so many reasons boot up; i.e if system files corrupted by virus or hard disk index tables corruption or hdd partions corruption.

So as a initial trouble shooting try to do following things to resolve problem.

This command will scan your hdd and repair disk errors.

Option 2 :

Press R when it is asked to press.
It will repair windows.
