Issues with Netgear WGT624 v3 Router

Sometime the night before last I "lost" internet going through my router. I have 4 VOIP very important telephone lines (2 linksys adaptors) that are now useless because it no longer has internet access.

I originally had a Netgear WNR854T router but changed it out with a previously used Netgear WGT624 v3 router with new ethernet cable. The exchange made no difference although I did not change any settings if there were some that should have been changed.

I did run the ethernet cable directly from the cable modem to my laptop and that provides internet service. The routers both appear to be working based upon the criteria in the manuals.

I've also turned the various modems, router, computer and adaptors on/off in recommended sequence with no results.

I'm out of suggestions other thaan buying a new router which is how I ended up with two in the first place! Thanks for any help you can provide!!!

    It worked fine with my original configuration but stopped working all of a sudden. There is only 1 slot in which it can go so I'm pretty sure that's not the problem. It is plugged in so I've got that covered!

Hi,

Try to put the Internet cable in the Network slot rather than Wireless one.. it will work fine..

The netgear router installation will set up the internet connection during install.
Download the Router driver from netgears website and install on the computer/s then your up and running.
it appears you wireless card is seeing the router so just install the drivers and your set.

on your computer try to reinstall the device driver for wireless. try to connect the ethernet cable directly to the computer. if you have internet access, then most likely your netgear router needs to be reconfigured. you need to contact your internet service provider or router manufacturer for the reconfiguration of your router. mostly likely the security settings of the router needs to be changed.

Netgear wgt624-suddenly not working.I reinstalled it.It worked for alittle bit then didn't work again.when i connected to cable modem by passing the router i can get internet.so i know it's the router.

I have had a number of these go. Take it apart and replace the large capacitor near the power input socket.
Netgear use cheap capacitors - buy another make in future!

I have just bought a Netgear Modem Router. I also have a new Panasonic Cordless phone system. As soon as I make a telephone call or receive a call my Netgear Modem ceases to work and I lose the Internet...


silly question maybe, but have you installed a line filter in the telephone socket where the phone is plugged in, or try moving the phone or router elsewhere as there may be interference if they are on the same MHZ channel

Hi i have a netgear wg111t usb and a wgt624 thr router is working no problems i can connecy both laptop and main computer by ethernet cable but when i try to go wireless all i get iswindows cannot...


do you still have it connected direct when you're doing the wireless? also, go to your control panel, and click on wireless configuration icon, and follow those steps.

make sure all wireless connections are in positive(on) condition.
