I reccommend live service with me, but I can definitely help. Please mark this as solved and we will arrange a time to work setup out. The question should be marked as solved because the one ANSWERABLE question, about the DVD being recorded, is NO, unless it is a home movie. Not only is it illegal, but also VERY difficult to do. and your equip is not cabable. Thanks!

SOURCE: I have a new 52"

I have the same situation....what I have done is connected my Blue ray to the TV via the HDMI connection and the audio to the RTDVD1 via an Optical cable. I find this is the best connection and sound reproduction so far. The input of the RTDVD is the SAT/Optical input and then switch the source to SAT/OPT. You will have to make adjustments in the BlueRay player's audio setup to enable the 5.1 DB digital sound etc.

Connect tv to surround sound system

Connect a RCA cable from the TV Audio output (red/white)
to the surround sound Audio Input (red White)

If your TV has a "HDMI OUT" and your Surround System has a
"HDMI Input" Then use a HDMI cable instead.
You will need to set the source on your Surround System to
the audio source you use on the surround system(input)
On most it will be TV or Auxiliary.

How do you connect tv audio from vizio wv26l through panasonic saht 680 surround sound?

The SAHT680 only has RCA analog audio inputs. I don't know the WV26l. However, there are a couple of possibilities based on other Vizio models. 1) The audio out is a headphone jack. Use a 3.5 mm M to RCA F/F adapter and then an RCA audio cable to the surround sound system. (You can also use a cable that has the 3.5 mm M and RCA M/M ends or a 3.5 mm F and RCA M/M adapter with a 3.5 mm audio cable.)
2) The audio output is a digital audio out. In that case, you need a digital to analog audio converter. There are a number of models available. One example is here: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10423&cs_id=1042302&p_id=6884&seq=1&format=2 . You will also need the correct digital audio cable between the TV and the converter and the RCA audio cable between the converter and your SAHT680.

The manual for the SAHT680 is available from Panasonic here: service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/SAHT680.pdf . See page 25 for the picture of the audio inputs.

I hope this helps.

(The only other option is to upgrade the main unit of the surround sound system to one with digital audio inputs if your TV only has digital audio out.)

Can i run my cable box thru the rtd 120 to my tv to get cable

Why bother?

Generally speaking, I'd run the best Cable Box audio to the RTD and the best Cable Box video directly to the TV if you don't want to risk problems inherent with extra unnecessary (and expensive) video cabling.

The RTD120 has no digital audio inputs so you're limited to RCA-type analog TV audio. Bummer.

No surround sound on normal tv just dvds

Do you have a cable box or satellite box? If you do, try hooking up your TV sound through the box. Look for audio out in the back of box (white/red RCA Jacks). Hook RCA cable from cable box to surround amp. Even if the audio out jacks are being used already, you can use Y connectors to hook up the surround amp to the box.
Hope this works for you!

Hooking up video

I am assuming that you are using a surround sound system? If so on the back of the satellite receiver you will have RCA cables labled yellow ,red, white uuse an rca cable to run from the output on the back of the sat box to an rca input on the surround sound unit.the inputs should be labled on the back of the surround sound unit.once you have the sat box plugged in look for the output on the surround sound (rca cables) run one set of rca cables to the rca cable input of the Tv.on the original tv remote select the tv input that is the cable from the surround sound is plugged in to . make sure the surround sound unit input is selected to the input that the sat box is plugged into.this will give you surround sound from your satellite receiver, repeat with your DVD player plugging the DVD rca cable output to another empty input on the surround sound.to switch between the sat box (satellite TV) to DvD select another input on the surround sound unit.Try to correspond the units you are plugging into the surround sound to the correct name of the component on the back of the surround sound unit to avoid confussion.any questions,Im here to help.If this works rate me FIXYA! if it helps.GOOD LUCK!

Surround sound help

A few questions... What components are involved? How are they connected? Can you hear sound from the speakers for any other input device i.e. radio, cd, vhs, etc.? I suspect that there is an issue with the way the system is connected. I have the Surround sound output from my DVD player connected to the digital surround sound input on my reciever. I'm using digital coax cable (looks like a "normal" RCA cable), not the optical fiber connection. I had to buy a special cable for the digital surround sound. A normal RCA cable would not work. I don't know why. If you're using a similar connection, that could be your issue. make sure that the output and inputs you're using are compatible. A digital surround sound connection (in or out) can't be connected to an analog connector (in or out). Remember, Digital to Digital with a Digital capable cable; Analog to Analog with an Analog capable cable. If this is not your issue, post back here with more info and we'll see what we can figure out.
