Hello.

I suspect you have a Windows XP system error. It's also possible that your hard drive is failing.

If you have System Recovery CDs, your first choice would be to do a System Recovery. Here is info from HP/Compaq regarding Sysem Recovery:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&docname=c00007689

If not, perform a system reinstall. When you first power on your system, select F1 or F2 to go to Setup. Change the Boot order so that your CD drive is first.

Place the Windows System disk in the drive and reinstall the operating system.

You are getting the Windows logo due to that fact that there are files that have gotten "corrupted" or changed, possible due to a virus or malware. Since you cannot boot in Safe Mode, system restall or full reinstallation would be your only choices. The reinstall will wipe out all your files and start again.

Hope this helps.

You will need to use the original restore or boot disc CD that came with your computer to fix this problem. If you don't have the CD that originally came with your computer then you could use a copy of any Windows operating system (Win XP, Vista, or 7) to replace the missing files that have been lost or deleted due to adaware, spyware, or a trojan virus that has infected your hard drive.

I can't get into windows of my Dell Optiplex GX620. I try but the computer gives the following message: <<Stop C000021a. Fatal System Error. The session manager initialized system process terminated...

You most likely have a hardware issue. Very possibly memory.
You'll need to troubleshoot that by disconnecting everything in the case but the video, CPU, and memory and see if it starts OK.
Then hook up the hard drive and see if you can boot into Windows. If you can't, unplug one of the memory sticks and try it. Then the other memory stick and try.
If you have a Windows startup (installation disk), boot from that and opt for system repair. You will want to get to the command prompt and run chkdsk.

Compaq presario drops internet connection

Try this....

Windows WiFi Fix,

Windows Zero Wireless Configuration is one of the best programs to run a WiFi in Windows XP or Vista. Most of the other software packages that come with the different adapters have been poor at best in keeping a connection through Windows. Here is the best guide to get you back up and connected.

Windows XP:

Click Start
Right click on My Computer
When a window pops up click on properties
Click on the Hardware tab
Click Device Manager
Click the [+] next to Network Adapters
Find your wireless card and right click on it.
Click Disable
Windows may warn you that disabling the device may make it stop functioning.
Continue disabling the device.
Wait 30 seconds or so.
Right click on your wireless again and click Enable.
Exit the device manager.
Reconnect to your router.
You should now be able to connect to the internet.

Windows Vista:

Click Start Logo
Right Click Computer
Click Device Manager
Windows will ask you about opening Device Manager Click Continue
Click the [+] next to Network Adapters
Find your wireless card and right click on it.
Click Disable
Windows may warn you that disabling the device may make it stop functioning.
Continue disabling the device.
Wait 30 seconds or so.
Right click on your wireless again and click Enable.
Exit the device manager.
Reconnect to your router.
You should now be able to connect to the internet.

Displays sys error session manager initialization terminated unexpectedly status of 0xc00026c (0x00000000 0x00000000)

smss.exe is the process that manages sessions in Windows Computer. This is the session manager subsystem, which is responsible for starting the user session. This process is initiated by the main system thread and is responsible for various activities, including launching the Winlogon and Win32 (Csrss.exe) processes, and setting system variables. After it has launched these processes, it waits for either Winlogon or Csrss to end. If this happens normally, the system shuts down; if it happens unexpectedly, smss.exe causes the system to stop responding (hang).

In this case, I suggest that you start the "smss.exe" process manually from the Task Manager. You can press the "Ctrl+Shift+Esc" together to display the Task Manger window. Then, click on the Applications tab then the "new task" tab located at the bottom. In the New task dialog box, please type "smss.exe" and click OK.

However, you can also perform System Restore to restore the Windows System files to the time when it operated normally. Performing System restore will not delete any saved data however, all the installed programs after the selected restored point will be unistalled and require to reinstall them.

Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key. one you reach the dektop..run a system restore if this as started happening recently. you can run system restore which will bring the computer back to an earlier time lets say few days back with the help of selecting the date in the calender in the system restore tool. To go into system restore tool click on start select accessories and the system tools and then system restore. Select restore my computer to an earlier time and click the date in the calender box once highlighted hit next and wait till the process completes once completed it will restart the system automatically and will give you a message your computer was restored successfully in case it says not restored then you can select another Bold date i mean a previous date to retry again.
2. boot to safe mode and folow the below steps: Edit the registry: Start then Run and type "regedit" Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Session Manager \ Memory *Management and double click the DisablePagingExecutive value and enter value 1. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Session Manager\ Memory Management, double click on the Largesystemcache value and enter 1 as value to increase the size of the hard disk cache

My computer lost all its memory and is claiming to need a system recovery cd where can i get it

System recovery can be accessed during initial boot up before the Windows screen comes up. In most cases you need to press F11 to begin system recovery. There should be a message that flashes across the top of the screen shortly after you turn on the computer that instructs you to press F11 for emergency recovery. Do it. If you do not see a message, try pressing the F11 key several times right after you start your computer, sometimes the message to enter recovery does not appear because the manufacturer places there logo page on the initial screen.
