It isn't the monitor at fault here, the boot stops at BIOS screen because the BIOS cannot find the OS - either it was corrupted beyond access (try a Repair install if you have important data on it, otherwise just do a full reinstall - much safer) or the hard disk has died (replace it and reinstall).

there are many reason why a monitor suddenly turned off then back to work again , over use may over heat that cause the soled parts on the printed board of your CRT go loosen , try to re sold it, sometimes your PC might stop viewing so the monitor automatically shot off stby mode , loose connection due to basted parts , capacitors, power regulators, resistors , even the cables also might be.

There is a green light blinking abo the power button and the screen is black.

Unplug it from the mains, then try again. Does the screen show any sign of like (e.g. startup logo)?
Does the screen work on another computer?
Is the signal cable properly connected at both ends?
Does the PC work ok on another screen.
If still no joy, new ones are cheap - get a nice big one.

Screen on laptop keeps going black

please explain further. keeps going black from where? after turning on the laptop? of after windows logo? if after windows logo screen turns black if a no boot issue where laptop cannot load system files. if screen is black after turning on no manufacturer logo and windows logo or anything then it might be the LCD or video card / motherboard. to isolate try connecting your laptop to an external monitor and check if you will be getting the same problem. if no display from the external monitor then its a video card issue, if video card is integrated needs to replace motherboard.

N10 white screen

I think this is an issue with your desktop settings are your display driver. Reboot the notebook, unplug the external monitor. Press the F8 key when you see the Windows logo screen. It will give you a list of choices. Use the the VGA selection. Windows should be normally. Then go to the control panel and check what drivers are trying to load for your notebook. I would suggest to your E-machine website or if you have the cd to reload your video drivers.

I hope this helps you.
