SimpleTech Portable Hard Drive

I have pluged the UBS plug into the SimpleTech Hard Drive and into my computer. I formated it but how do I send the files from my computer to the external hard drive?

You can either do copy/cut + paste or just simply drag and drop the files/folders that you want to move.

This is neo , When did the setup for win XP the file system would be FAT32 . FAT32 is not supported in windows7. You can format the external drive BUT note the files in the drive will be deleted.

I have my Simpletech 500gb drive pluged in but


Okay, so it should be picking up with that machine. First try re-seating all cables (power and USB both sides) and also try plugging it into a different USB port. Be patient and give it a few minutes to find it. Let me know whether or not that works.

Most of the times you just have to format the drive to Mac OS Journaled or else you will only be able to transfer 4gb or less at a time.

Portable hard drive


Depending on the computer you are using, and the type of drive, you should not need a CD with drivers or what not for a drive to mount. Most of those cds have retrospect or some type of trial or demo software. If the drive mounts, and you can see it in your directory, then you should be able to format it.
