We removed the core and rotated it for several minutes until it "seemed to unfreeze" - we then started the dishwasher and it went through the cycle perfectly.Thank you so much for this online service. Sorry I didn't tell you all of this last night.

Hi,

F2 means that the rotor (PN 525884P) is sensed to not be turning, It could be a small piece of food debris, a tiny fragment of a shell or broken glass, has gotten lodged in the wash impeller, or it could be a seized bearing. The buzzing sound is most likely a burr on the lower portion of the wash rotor. Remove the rack, then the filter plate (the large silver plate with all the holes in it), and then the wash impeller (the blue finned "fan" in the middle). While looking at the lower rotor, be sure that its fins are crisp and sharp with no flashing or burrs. Remove burrs with a razor blade. Does the fan spin freely? If not, try a few drops of lubricating oil on the bearings while working the rotor back and forth trying to free it up. Is there anything in the cup that would prevent the rotor from turning? (fragment of glass, shell, etc)

A solution by a user who got this Error Fixed -
The repair man came and it took 2 minutes to fix. The problem was that the bottom drawer had not been used for a couple of years and thus the impeller had jammed. to fix it take out the basket, lift off the rotor arm and unscrew the knob. Then just work the impeller around with your fingers until it frees. It then worked perfectly. We will use the bottom often from now on to prevent this happening again. By now the left over pumpkin pie will be a bit green!!

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

NO POWER TO TOP DRAW

Not sure which model you have but if top drawer in double drawer has no power then it could mean a few things - either the thermal cutoff sensor has blown or the power board at the base of the dishwasher (under bottom drawer has blown). If you are not getting an F2 error on bottom drawer then more likely it is the thermal sensor. Not an easy job to fix as the whole heater assembly has to be replaced. The cutoff is integrated with the heater. The power board is easy to replace provided you have good handyman skills. ALWAYS TAKE OUT MAINS CABLE before working inside the dishwasher.

F2 code on Fisher Paykel dishwasher

The problem is linked to rotor operation during discharge cycle. By replacing the rotor with bottom will only address part of the problem. There is very likely some obstruction in the pump cavity. This is the small channel connecting the drain sump and the pump cavity. Grab a thin but rigid wire and clear this channel. Usually a bone chip or some seed.
Also confirm if the top rotor worked ok when you moved it to the bottom drawer.

The top drawer of our F & P dishwasher is showing and F2 fault, I have just fitted a new front control unit. F2 is the pump I believe, where on the unit do I find that?

The F2 fault implies there is a problem with the motor rotor which is located under the drain plate at the bottom right in the centre of the drawer. The rotor is actually driving the wash arms.

F2 does not necessarily mean you have to replace the rotor. It is also possible there is some debris inside the rotor cavity which is preventing the rotor from rotating at the normal speed.

Remove the racks and the wash arm. Twist the centre ring so that it disengages the drain plate. You can then pull the rotor out with a few back and forth twisting motions. Check if the cavity is clean. Re-insert everthing and start the wash cycle. If F2 comes in again, you will have to eliminate the cause by using the rotor from the bottom drawer and see if it makes any difference. You may then have to buy a replacement part.

good luck

Dual dishdraw bottom Ok, top one wont start cycle,F2 comes up

Try swapping the motor rotors between the two drawers and see if the fault changes drawers, also check for anything stuck under the motors or and damage to the plastic of them. cheers

F2 flashing on lower drawer

F2 means "motor not sensed to be rotating"
You said "very rarely used" also. The two go hand-in-hand in most cases. If you leave the drawer sit unused for months and months, this can ruin the motor rotor. The rotor comes out with no tools. Remove the dishrack, the wash arm (both simply lift off) and then the stainless steel filer/cover. This is removed by rotating the collar counter-clockwise and lifting it up. Now rotate the collar for the rotor counter-clockwise and lift the motor rotor out of the pump base. See if it spins freely. it;s probably frozen. You also can try swapping the rotor from the upper drawer into the bottom and see if that will work for you. if the rotor is bad, it is a part number 525884P and you can get them here:

If you find this info to be accurate and correct, please rate my answer as a FIXYA.

Need users manual, (f2) fault

Hi and welcome to FixYA!
F2 means the motor is not being sensed to be rotating. Lift off the wash arm and see if you can spin the blue impeller by hand. If it won't turn, it may be frozen of ajmed by an object like broken glass. Sometimes also if you let the drawer sit unused for a long time (some people only use the top drawer) the rotor will freeze up. The part number is a 525884P if you need a new one, it requires no tools to change it. As for the user guide, you can get one free here:
